You all have been so great and such a comfort. Thanks for all your good thoughts and sunflowers. Since I haven't been at work and don't have a 'puter at home, I have been posting from the Hope Lodge when I'm here. Have the pre-op exam tomorrow and will (hopefully) get the surgery date then. I'll try to go to work a few hours next week and will check back then. Have the tree up and some decorating done. Radiation went very well until the last two days of it, then the side-effects really settled in. After having 51 years of a VERY VERY full head of hair, I can now wash it with a washcloth! Wasn't prepared for that since even with brain radiation, you don't always lose your hair. But I was given a nice wig and it has an upside - the clerk at the store I usually shop at didn't know who I was, the manager at Hope Lodge didn't know who I was, and one of the guests here thought I was my daughter! Should have shaved my head and gotten a wig years ago. To all the "old-timers" and the newcomers, happy holidays!!!

I've been using Vista for 3 weeks. It works just fine. I think its the same as but somehow a step or two nicer than xp. Takes about a week to get used to the changes. You do do twice as much clicking to get to most system settings. They've seemed to want to hide things, that most people probably wouldn't mess with anyhow. There are some old faithful third party programs that havent been Vista-ized yet and a few that I've tried that say Vista compatable which they havent fully worked out their bugs. Microsoft gave me a wifi NIC upgrade, my only blue screen - but miscrosoft has done that for years with hardware drivers - WQL approved = Windows Quality Labs ;) Vista with MS-Works Laptop here uses 15-20GB of hard drive with no other major programs installed.

One more question: DH and I are disagreeing over the windowsill! Would it be better for him to build a wood ledge for the windowsill and tile over it, or should we buy a wooden windowsill more like this (http://www.onewomanslife.com/home/uploaded_images/kitwindowduring-749696.jpg), paint it white, and tile around it? I think he is thinking he will tile the windowsill and keep it going all the way up around the window. I'm having a hard time imagining this and think it might be better to texture and paint around the window, put an actual windowsill in, paint it the same color as the cabs, and tile just the backsplash, keeping a straight line across. I don't know...maybe we'd have to decide on what we're doing with the tile before we make this decision. This is crazy! LOL

I did go to coupons.com printed off a few. I am going shoping at WalMart tomorrow (ick) but it is on my way to a biz appt. I dont usually go there but with the price of gass I dont go out of my way much any more. i will let you know if they accept them.
