I like your choices, too. I would continue searching for the right light neutral color, myself. I'm also not sold on blue in there... It does take time to get the right color! My usual procedure: 1) bring home about 10 different swatches from the store. Hold them up in the room in various places, sometimes right on the wall, sometimes holding it out at arms length so it's "bigger" in your field of vision. Narrow your swatches down to say 5 or 6 that look OK. 2) Look at them at different times of day, different weather, different locations in the room. Next to whatever different materials they will abut IRL. 3) Narrow it down to a handful. Buy testers of those colors or whatever the smallest amount you can buy is. Paint ~2'x2' blocks on various walls (or paint pieces of poster board that you can move around) and again, look at them in different light situations.

Holly-Kay - Always nice to see you too:) Guess what - you were spot on with your blue comment. DD is off at camp, and I really wanted to get this done so I picked out the green colors I disliked least (I'm bad, I know, but I just wanted to get it done!); painted the ceiling the light Seahorse (very pale, but I liked it), then went to get the wall paint, chose two shades up for the walls (cheerful Wales Green). Had just arrived home with the wall paint, when DD called, and I confessed. Her reaction? Not green, Mom, BLUE!, same dark blue as another room in the house. AARGH. So I will need to paint the ceiling (again) and buy more paint. My fault entirely. The hardest part is CLEANING the room so that I can paint. Anyone in need of a gallon of Wales Green? Or even better, can my local store take the green and get to a desired much darker blue? sas95, kswl, peony4, thanks for the suggestions. mtnrdredux - yes, my goal was to present choices with which I could live, but I really didn't like any. (An apricot would be fun, but the blue she's picked will go well, I think). busybee3 - her first choices were incredibly dark and saturated greens and blues. Lots of samples up on the wall, but fortunately she did not like any. localeater - I have left a fan deck out but there's not a lot of interest! TheFoxesPad - great picture, love it! kmcg85: I loved all the different shades of gray used on that home tour. It makes me want to throw out all my furnishing and start fresh. Thank you for the picture of Oxford Gray. It is very blue and that's why he likes it. I think it too much blue. He'd have dark blue walls and blue bedding, yuck. I like the idea of painting all the trim dark with light walls but I think it's much easier to paint walls and be done with it. How about the Oxford Gray below chair rail and a true lighter gray on top or vice versa? rob333: What a great BR. I'm no where near talented enough to pull that off. I still draw stick figures. msrose: I like the Oxford Gray in that nursery but it's much lighter becaused it was glazed. It's unanimous, we all like the BR on RSM. Lucky kid. amysrq: I just looked up Van Deusen Blue and wow it is dark. Do you have a picture of her room? I think that could work with white trim, furniture and bedding. I didn't realize Oxford Gray had any purple undertones. DS definitely does not want a purple room. I personally like Thundercloud Gray the best. DS really likes the blues more. How about November Skies? Do you think that has purple undertones?

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. We'll likely be doing some deeper blues and purples in the room too, along with nickel and brass accents. Wanting to go about as gray as possible while still maintaining a definitive blue (not green-blue) undertones. For what it's worth, roughly 1.5 of the 4 walls + the ceiling are completely taken up by BM Super White millwork and doors (one full wall, two doors, and moldings + built in radiator cover below windows on other side). As such, there is a lot of white in the room and we don't want to contract TOO much. Currently, the walls are BM Blue Ice (821), which looks a bit too intense for the space (room is roughly 14x12)
