The problem is lack of water Period. OK. That seems like a long time to run the sprinkler for. You need to achieve 3/4 to 1" of water no matter how long it takes. Try a different rotor head that will throw more water, or change the nozzle in your current heads if you can. Honestly, running it for 45 minutes drenched the yard! Thats because we just received 3 days of soaking rain. It also doesn't explain why one of my problem areas received more water. If the problem was not enough water, it should be receiving less, right? Your talking about an 1/8" difference. If it would have been 1/2" or more difference then you might have an argument. What makes you think it's not enough water? Because you only applied an average of 3/16" of water. Can it be fungus? Chinch Bugs? No and once again, even if it was chinch bugs, you already treated for them. We have sandy soil in the Tampa Bay area. The problem areas you have are DEAD and are not going to get better over night. The good thing is that S.A. spreads by runners fairly rapdily. You could/should apply some compost to the dead areas to help/speed the process up. I strongly advise you read this whole thread again and follow the advise. By spring/early summer your problems should be much much better.

I am beyond amazed by the wonderful (and sometimes humorous) input on this thread! Wow! (Mamarella, your house looks beautiful, by the way! I can definitely see the similarities in color, although the scope of your house is much larger from the front.) On Monday, I picked up a bunch of paint chips at the local hardware store and held them up for my husband to see. (Many of them were colors that were recommended on here...or similar!) We have decided to go with some sort of blue (probably with green-ish undertones), but we had a lot of trouble narrowing the field down to one color. I have about 8-10 swatches set aside, and I am going to look them over tomorrow with a friend who has a good eye for color. Then, I will buy a few small jars of paint and see what actually looks good when it's up! We will see if the neighbors decide to chime in this time around. :-) To answer a few questions, I live outside of Boston, and we are moving from just a few blocks away. Therefore, I already know some of the neighbors, and they feel comfortable enough telling me when they don't like something....for better or for worse! Likewise, I appreciate the honest--and varied--input on this thread. :-) What a wonderful resource! My version of PE is 2.0, an older version so it may have changed. But this is what I do. 1 open picture in PE (look at the title bar of the picture and it will tell you what % of full size image is currently displayed) 2 click on "image" on the menu 3 click on "resize" on the submenu that opens 4 click on "image size" in the dialog box that opens, click into where it says pixels and change it to percent, then click into the box to the left of percent and change - I ususally use 15-17 percent. Then click "OK" The image then becomes quite small on your screen. Go to "View" on the menu and click on "View Actual Pixels". This will show you the picture in its actual size. Also when saving your file, be sure to do a "Save As" and change the name of the file so that you do not write over the original high quality picture. (I usually just add the word SMALL to the file name) After changing the name of the file and clicking OK, another dialog box will appear. I usually change to a quality to 4 in this dialog box, this will keep the physical size of the file quite small for posting. Hope this helps. If you have further questions, I will try to help. Oceanna, it kept locking up and freezing on me. Of course I had to hurry up and upgrade when I got that email from them, so I do have one of the first versions released, and that may be part of the problem. Lynne_Melb, did you get your version 10 when it was released right away or later on? I think sometimes we're the beta testers for these hardware and software companies. ;-) I had Elements at one time and did like it. There is a bit of a learning curve going from Paint Shop Pro to Elements because, as Squirrel said, commands in various products are different, but once learned, it's good. I would say it's comparable to PSP and I only stopped using Elements because I upgraded to Photoshop which is great, but is a real system hog. You have to have a good amount of free space and memory to use it or it will lock up and freeze, and it seems like overkill for what we're doing here, but that's only an opinion and I'm sure others may feel differently.
