mrsmarv. You can have your opera length pearls made into 2 necklaces (or a necklace and a bracelet) and still wear it as one necklace if you want. One of my necklaces is about 36" long- it is made up of 2 separate necklaces, one is 18 1/2" and the other is 17". I can wear them separately as individual necklaces, wear them at the same time and they look like a double strand or screw them back together and wear one long necklace. The necklaces don't have a clasp but instead have a screw that's invisible when the pearls are screwed together.

Hi Everyone.....I just joined....Thank you so much for all the wonderful info in this thread. You see...GFG was one of my grandmothers favorite quilts to make. I begged her to teach me (way back when I was a pre-teen) but alas I never got to learn. She has been gone for 27 years now and I have been trying to teach myself....LOL....Now with all your help I will be able to make my Grammie proud. I am going to start out small....ie...Chair pads.I remember Grammie making pillows. Then work up. I want to make one each foe my 2 granddaughters. I have lots of material, just need to get them sorted. I do have a question or 2.. ;o) If I decide not to put a white border around each flower....what should I use? Light or dark fabric? And does it all have to be hand stitched or can I cheat and use a machine? Also...do you use the hexes for yoyos? Grammie made these as well? Dont know how to make them. Back online - started writing and my computer died - AGAIN! Anyway, as had started to say, you don't have to love her. It's just nice to have company. Sometimes the more mature relationships are just that - whatever you want it to be. You just appreciate and enjoy each other. HOWEVER, if she still doesn't know you aren't going anywhere, hmmmm.... She may do all of that naturing - cleaning, etc., as a way of justifying herself. She just may not have the self confidence to realize that the nurturing isn't what she is. That's a tough one - you want to hang in there and prove that's not the case, and help her to realize her worth. But also, why would someone want to have to walk on eggshells all the time; making sure she felt secure. Best wishes on that one!!
