We saw their waterfall/gas fireplace in an article in the Wall Street Journal. Sounded wierd, but upon further research, it really does look lovely, and seem to be a legitimate company making a very creative, innovative product that isn't much more expensive than a good gas fireplace! And what a conversation piece! Anyone had any experience with their water/fireplace? I'd love to get some feedback before going down this road any further! Thanks.

Yes, that is an upgrade/newer version of Elements 5. I have Elements 5 and there's a TON of stuff you can do with it. However, it's not the least bit intuitive when you get beyond basic photo enhancing, IMO and how successful you will be with it depends on the type of learner you are. I don't do well trying to figure things out on my own, hunting and pecking and just playing around to see what happens, but some people do. I need a class, a teacher and specific tasks to learn specific skills. If you have access to Photoshop classes, I'd check them out first and see if #1 you want to spend that money to learn over and above the cost of the program and #2 if they will be teaching to specific skills that you want to learn. I have taken classes and learned a lot but find that unless I'm using it all the time I quickly forget things - how did I do that again??? But that's also a function of age, I think ;-) Squirrel uses a different program for a lot of the cool stuff she does - can't remember for sure which but I think it's a Microsoft program that's no longer available

I think it's because my second floor probably originally had only two very large bedrooms upstairs. At some point, a previous owner added a wall between one if the rooms to make a third bedroom upstairs. As a result my DD's room on the back dormer has two big windows and no windows in the front room which is the boys.

If you want a roof on it, then it will cover up the sunlight that comes through all of the windows. A roof on the porch will also mean redoing all of your existing roofs. They can't just continue down on the slope that they have (or even a lesser slope). This is probably why you haven't gotten any responses yet. Anything this major would have to be planned out and drawn by an architect. It isn't as simple as just 'adding' a porch. It's redoing and re-visualizing a lot of what you currently have.
