Nonnie, please don't take offense but I think the problem is more with you being a novice than with Wordperfect. I say that based on a couple clues you give me in your post. One thing is WordPerfect will accept any universal graphics format. Those do not include graphics generated in program-specific formats like Print Shop or Master Prints and other such programs. Universal formats include bmp, jpg, tif, wmf, eps, pcx, png, and there are many others, but these are the most common. WordPerfect will accept all of these and most (if not all) of the others. And, of course, it accepts its own format wpg. To find out what it will accept, go to Insert Picture as if you are going to insert one. Click on the Files of Type arrow at the bottom and scroll to see what all is in there. Files of any other type will not be compatible, which means you might have to tell it to accept more if it isn't already programmed to do that. This is part of setup and is located on your WordPerfect installation disk. Concerning the article you are trying to put into your document, I don't know what that is. Is it type-written words or is it a graphic image? Is it a WordPerfect document? A Word document? A document created in some other program? Or a graphic clip that someone sent you? And how are you trying to insert it? If it is type written, is it possible to copy and paste it in? Please give a little more information? Increasing memory, as Owbist suggested, is always a good. I do know Word is the more popular word processing program used these days, but WordPerfect is also powerful and nothing snuff at LOL. I can understand the documents you receive from people are usually written in Word and having Word will make like a lot easier for you. So, to answer your question, yes you can install and run Word without having to uninstall WordPerfect. Installing Word is simple enough. The installation Wizard will walk you through it. You just follow the instructions on the screen and answer the questions it asks. You may want to instruct submissions to limit file types and size. If I were you, I'd make that only bmp formats because they don't blur or distort as readily as jpg formatted images. Also, people will send 10mg files because they don't know any better. You may want to tell them to limit file size to 1mg or 2 or 3 so you are able to manage the size and functionability of your newsletter pages(s). If you ever have to take your newsletter to a service bureau for printing, they will require jpg images only, so you will need to know that when instructing submissions.

Hi again. Further responses have given us more to think about. There won't be any reception after the couple return. Because we both have such large families, they are basically eloping (but graciously gave immediate family the option to join them) because they cannot afford the expense such a large reception would entail. Phoning the absent friends and relatives would mean calling almost 400 people, so everyone thought a mailed announcement would be much less time consuming. However, I can understand how some people feel that any type of formal announcement would appear to be a gift solicitation. My future DIL truly is a very sentimental young lady who has saved every card she has ever received since she was about 10 years old. She honestly hoped she could receive cards commemerating her MARRIAGE to my son, even if they could not invite our huge families to their wedding. But it has been pointed out that this is tacky or might not be possible without appearing like there is some ulterior motive. Well, I'll pass everything on to them and let the cards fall where they may, I guess. Thanks for all your input!

These homes don't have basements and mine only has a carport. And the original laundry rooms were outside, so people looking in this neighborhood are looking for remodels that have joined the laundry room to the main house. It's like another room, at 9 x 10 with a closet and window! My realtor said many people end up using it as a home office as well, and mine is the perfect size. And it's the most cheerful laundry room I've seen, with soft yellow walls and white accents! LOL I do have a pool, but it's not considered a selling feature in my area, especially not an old one like mine. Major features like # rooms, pool, parking, lot size are all listed in the bottom features of the MLS listing. This is just the additional description that the feature list doesn't cover. So you really think the pottery barn is a no-go? It's not the furnishings, it's the actual style of the interior. Everything is in PB colors, walls, hardware, beadboard, etc. Seems like ALL the remodels these days are going for the PB look because that's what the majority of the 20 & 30 somthing crowd goes for. Mine is a large family home in a family area, so it's very unlikely a couple over 40 will buy it. My realtor is concerned (as am I) about staying realistic in the ad and not puffing it up to something it's not. It does need some work, not right away (unless you want everything new or just so), but eventually. Same with the backyard. Things are -old- and obviously starting to wear out in the back. I've looked at so many home that describe this AWESOME house and you get there and it's a dump. :(

Have you considered changing fonts? Some of the fonts are smaller, no matter what size you set them to be. With regard to it printing near the middle of the page, have you checked the margins? Orientation (portrait vs. landscape)? Under Format, check your page setup, etc. If you need more assistance, just holler. I don't have WordPerfect 12, but I have 8, 10, X3 and X4, so the basic operations should be similar. If you have a sample page of what you are trying to do, you can e-mail it to me and I'll see if I can figure out what's happening. It's probably something very simple--the trick is finding that something.
