Outside, I also loved the name of the blog! Been hanging out there most of the afternoon. :)

The duration of ice (1 full week), then snow that lasted a week and brought a significant temperature decrease ( down to 7 degrees) was unexpected. The home we are renting has a two car garage that holds belongings that did not fit in storage. It also houses one of our vehicles... The vehicle we left outside, we learned recently, has some wiring damage because under the hood is where squirrels carrying acorns took refuge. There was no reasonable space to place the roses in the garage. The snow fell and we awakened to roads that were unsafe for travel and most stores closed ( no power)... I lost roses that were gifted to me from a relative in Houston... Candice, Annie Laurie Mc Dowell and Black Magic, as well as others I received after going on wait lists prior to even moving here. Most can be replaced but others are gone, likely forever... I have selectively purchased roses here and there, but am trying to control myself. Our home should be completed sometime this Winter, and after that, we will be tasked with figuring out hardscaping and landscaping, so whatever I buy will reside in pots for a little while.
