however, if you have that much water on top, posibility is you would have ground saturation. if this is the case then drywell will aid in a central location for water to pool, fill up, become stagnant, and stink. being in the dogs area, planting bed might not be a solution, or would it? plantings with invasive tertiary root system to suck up that water would be suggested. if not, regrade with a slight swale to the corner of the property. our systems are designed with a process gravel base of a couple inches deep by a couple feet wide from high end to low end covered by a couple of inches topsoil so you can plant over it. depending on your type of soil at said location. iff the water saturation is extreme, then a french drain with crushed stone and filter fabric would be suggested but putting it at an end location would be the callenge. getting it to daylight, or possible drywell in a dryer location could be possible. I wonder if anyone has noticed that not a single match has been made on this thread between a person with extra dirt and a person who needs it who are both close to each other. Not surprising. I suggest using your local Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. or the matching sites linked in this thread.

Back to the flooring: Let's assume your vinyl does NOT have a backing of any sort (100% vinyl top to bottom). You will need to pull up the vinyl, scrub it (in a bath tub or some other large water-holding vessel) with a mild bleach solution (5% or so), rinse it off, then lay it to dry IN SUNLIGHT for as many hours as possible (remember to flip the planks half way through the day). While you are doing all the bathing, you will be running several industrial fans (windows open and dehumidifier running full tilt for several days) until the moisture levels are back to normal. And remember to remove and throw out the vapour barrier that was laid underneath the vinyl planks. You will need more...no use keeping something that could be harbouring dangerous pathogens. Once the planks are FULLY dry (and have basked in sunlight/UV radiation to kill any bacterium left over from the bleach bath) you can stack them for the next install. Remember to lay them on a hard, solid surface. Do NOT let them bow or bend. While you are "racking" the planks, inspect each edge to ensure 100% of the click-edges are intact/viable. Wait for the basement to dry out, resintall the vapour barrier and then install the vinyl planks. Just be aware that when you remove the vinyl, you will have (roughly) 25% loss of material due to edge breakage. You will need to count up wasted planks and then purchase the same amount (or a snick more) to ensure you have enough coverage for your basement. Or you can remove the wet vinyl, throw it out and purchase everything new. It depends on what you have more of: time or money.

I would first try digging out what looks like heavy clay soil about one foot deep and replace with some soil that drains well, plants will thank you too. If that doesn't work then move on to a more complicated solution. Does rain from roof drain into flower bed also? Maybe a diverter on roof if needed. I had some planting below a area my roof drain on to. They did much better when I installed gutters water wasn't pounding on them.
