You guys are the bomb!!! My pretty copper labels got dark enough it was even hard to see the etching (I didn't make it real deep). Last year I thought I had solved the problem with the Sharpie Silver metalic pens (also the bomb for other things) because the ink is hard to get off when we use them at work. Sadly, the darkening of the copper continues and I need just the right angle to read them. I've been afraid to use liquid copper cleaner in case the Sharpie comes off (and I may have reused some of the etched ones, doh!). Now I think I can clean them and the label will also keep at least the copper under the label oxidized free? Harryshoe, that's pretty funny, but age doesn't help anything when the roses are in pots and the dogs think the tags are fun to play with!!!

I didn't see who posted the stainless markers until I came back from the website (impressed. Karl, shoulda known it was you that found such a great product and at such a low price! Among other things, my husband is a machinist, and I can just hear him saying "you can't make 'em for that much". Packets of 50 and 100 are even cheaper (Say Karl, do you get the UV label tape from them, or is it an Office Depot item, I hardly ever use my labeler. For what it's worth though, aimeekitty, I would still come up with some label actually on the plant. I've had a terrible time with the dogs, especially the Boxer, pulling up tags. Not a big deal, but when they're in pots, you're SOL when they do more than one and the bushes look the same. You may not have dogs, but I can also hear the DH saying that he never saw them when he was raking ;-) Karl, I don't see 'on the' plant labels at Kincaid, do you have a good source for them as well? Kerin

Don't know how fancy a tag you prefer, but I like the Amekron aluminum tags. About 3" x .75". If you order direct, the minimum order is 500 & runs 11 cents each, but I've ordered them off of e-bay in boxes of 100 for ~.16 each, IIRC. They "emboss" by writing on them with a pencil or pen. I've got perfectly legible ones 15 years old. Big enough to write lots of info on, pre-punched for wires. Nice utility tags.

I am the same way. It drives me crazy to have a rose that I don't know what it is. I was at a friend's house and she only has about a dozen roses, most of which are Knockouts. She has four along a wall and when I asked what they were, one with small pink blooms, one with large fragrant light pink blooms, one with small lavender blooms, and one with red blooms. She doesn't know what they are and it doesn't bother her a bit. But it is driving me crazy! LOL.
