refrigerator panels and upper cab depth, std. depth refrigerator

Hi everyone. I have a standard depth refrigerator (29" deep without the doors) at the end of a run of cabinets.

Should I make the end panels around the refrigerator 29" deep or should I have them 26" deep so the one side matches up with the granite countertop?

My gut feeling is that I should make them 29" deep so I don't see any exposed sides of my refrigerator, but I'm not sure if it would look awkward having it stick out that much farther than the rest of the cabinetry.

If someone has a picture of one or the other that looks good, I'd love to see it.

Thanks!
