Getting tape residue off of old quilts
Comments (10)Linda, it's ironic you were mentioning cotton seeds in the batting. I was just discussing this with the clerk in the fabric store who cut my length of cotton batting. I am fairly new to quilting. Have only been doing it seriously for a couple years. You can see some impurities in the rolls they sell now, as I was chuckling at her compulsively picking them out before she gave it to me. She said that when she started quilting (I'd guess her to be about my age) that cotton batting came to the stores pretty crudely and that one had to pick it over so that any dark or chunky stuff didn't show through fine fabrics in the quilt. I didn't know that factoid and thought it was pretty cool. So, I guess ultra clean cotton batting happened in our lifetime....See MoreResidue on Hardwood Floor...help!
Comments (2)What type of floor do you have? Bona makes a wonderful wood floor cleaner. I had a similar problem as I posted on another blog, the Bona Wood Floor cleaner is awesome and should help repair what the bad product did to your floor. You can purchase it at a quality floor company. LOL!!...See Moregetting tape residue off of my oak floors

It worked beautifully on our pre-finished engineered hardwood floors. The label says you can use it on hardwood floors. HOWEVER, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT...make sure it's GOOF OFF 2, and not the original Goof Off which can damage surfaces. For example, the original Goof Off damages plastics but #2 is safe for plastics. Test it in an inconspicuous area first (as recommended on the bottle) just to be sure....See MoreNeed help getting ink/marker off hard wood flooring

You can use acetone, Many individuals have claimed success with nail polish remover in removing permanent markers from vinyl and other surfaces. Let me caution you that acetone-based treatments evaporate fast, so you may need to use more of them to remove larger stains." Waiting for the return of Enholm and the inevitable verbiage change to SPAM..........................See MoreMichael
