Adhesive for aluminum flashing?

I found the rolls of aluminum flashing at HD and wanted to use it for my kitchen cabinet toekick. The toekick is plywood, so I bought some 3M Super 77 spray adhesive which was supposed to work for wood and metal. Now, two weeks later the aluminum is almost totally unglued, and I decided to just pull it off.

Any suggestions on another adhesive to try? The flashing is pretty thin, so I didn't want to try goopy construction adhesive, but maybe that's what I have to do. To add to the degree of difficulty, the cabinets are installed now and I'd rather not unscrew and dismount them all. (Oh, there are only 3, so it's not that big a deal to unload them all and take them down.) :)

Here is a link that might be useful: 3M Super 77
