Hi again, I did find the pics from folks 60th. Their ann. is in May & I got 4 in. pots of petunias that were in full bloom at our local Green Arrow nursery were they give "free" plant wrappers. I had put a lovely floral 9x12 placemat-paper in same pattern as napkins & set plant on it as centerpiece for each table & surrounded plant with 4 of the votive candles I had made. I sent plants & candles home with guests. We didn't light them-fire danger with little ones around. All of us kids provided the food (5 of us) & I made lemon tarts & pecan tarts along with bakery bought whipped cream icing cake (mom's favorite, custard & strawberries in center) I made up a memory board of sheet cake cardboard from cake supply store covered with 4 fancy white rectangluar? paper doilies & pics of what "additions" had happened since 50th. There were couple of births, weddings ,graduations. For 50th you could make 1 of reunions, swim party, trips they took, their kids, Xmas,whatever they have done past 50 yrs. I had about 15 pics on this 1 & on 50th about 25 as I had wallet of their wedding (eloped) things they liked to do, dad's plane, hunting, mom's sewing, crocheting, etc. Whatever pics you have! It makes nice conversation piece. I finished board off with Victorian cutouts & silk flowers. Very easy! Just used scotch tape so everything was removable & if pics came from someone else could return them. I took close up's of Memory boards so they could have pics for memory photo book!! Jan

Hopefully I will be able to catch it on abc website. I watched an episode last week with Luke and Laura, and Scotty Baldwin. Guess that's just for the anni. My greatest hope regarding GH is that Jason would come back.

Absolutely beautiful! And so unusual and appropriate. You do have some Japanese in there, Carole. The last two "letters" in the right-most line are "na" and "ru," which turn the previous two kanji characters (which mean happiness) into an adjective to modify the characters for marriage in the next line over. Japanese and Chinese share a lot of characters, but the "na" and "ru" are definitely only Japanese. In fact, the only part of the writing that might not be taken for Japanese is the first character in the right line, which, as you probably already know, means "celebrate." It would normally come in a different place and have one or two Japanese letters, such as a verb ending, with it. Still, it is perfectly understandable to a Japanese. What a wonderful gift you made!

I would post pics of the party we did for my folks (2+ years ago), but Sis is still looking for the CD the photos are on. *sigh* Also consider doing a PowerPoint (very easy to do!) on your computer and playing it on a laptop so that it shows on the wall. I had a lot of fun doing that for my folks. We did a spiked and a plain punch but nearly ran into trouble because the country club we rented fussed about the wine in the punch. Not sure if it was because we didn't buy their expensive stuff or if it was liquor laws. We also went to the "dollar stores" and to a party store---GOLD stuff was very cheap because it was right around Christmas---and we bought tons of little tabletop things (gold beads, gold buckets for peanuts and mints, gold coin looking chocolate candy, etc.). Bought gold candles and chargers very cheaply at WalMart and Dillards (of all places). Again...the holidays were our friend. :-) We bought big gold bows (very cheap) for the chairs my folks sat in. candle holders, etc. cheap plastic bells for the cake table misc. gold balls that we put in a glass bowl on one table gold candles - I think we took the "stuff" off of them a pretty gold votive candle holder thing we used on the punch table
