The windows are Pozzi and still in good condition (other than the seals!). I am guessing that the door is Peachtree because that is what the other doors in the house were. Because the door sizes have changed, the price to replace all the glass is way under what a new custom sized door would be. We have replaced all the other doors in the house and had to have custom doors made. We replaced 2 of them because of issues with replacing locks and handles. The other doors were replaced because they were sliders/french doors that were just not holding up well. This door is seldom used in a walk out basement and still works fine.

It may be hard to get that identical shade, but there are a number of online stores that carry glass shades and you could buy a pair. I was recently looking to replace a broken shade, and found this place: Glass shades Here's another: Lampglass There are other such stores that you can find through a Google search, and eBay is a good place to browse for this sort of thing, too. Even Home Depot has a pretty large collection of glass shades on its web site. Lastly, local lighting fixture stores often carry an inventory of glass shades. The main issue is the size of the opening at the top, and the mechanism that holds the shade in place.

No, what I describe is not the only fix. You can do what you propose if you want. I prefer not to have metal under the toilet, it always seems to eventually corrode. What I proposed would bring you up to what you would typically see in new, current construction. Yeah, it might be a bit of a PIA to do, but you could probably justify buying a battery operated reciprocating saw to make it easier to cut the pipe off, as well as add a new tool to your to your toolbox. One has to always look for those opportunities!
