match new windows to exiting windows?

Yikes! I ran into a problem. We are remodeling our kitchen/den, and just went to order the new doors and and windows. I am getting 3 french doors, 4 windows over the sink and one window in the den- in white. Problem is all our current windows are a taupe color inside and outside. Will it look too funny to have the white doors and windows across the back of the house on the downstairs and taupe upstairs? I can have the outside of the new windows be a taupe color- but it won't match the existing, so that doens't make sense. HELP! Of course, the other option is to get all new windows ($$$). but then would I have to do the front too? I'm not sure I want to change the whole character of the house.

Many variables besides color when it comes to replacing windows

Type of home? year built? are the rest of the windows original

Are new windows in the front of the house or rear? have you taken exterior pics of your home & tried to match windows so they line up and appear they have been there or at least aesthetically go with the rest of the home?
1. the pattern of the openings and their size;
2. proportions of the frame and sash;
3. configuration of window panes;
4. muntin profiles;
5. type of wood;
6. paint color;
7. characteristics of the glass; and
8. associated details such as arched tops, hoods, or other decorative elements.
In other words they should not give the internal or external appearance of an afterthought

You need to chose the refinisher then let them choose the wood they like working with. Pine is hard to beat for matching existing wood on remodels.

JudyG Designs, I had planned on adding trim around the windows but now, after looking at that picture again, I may not. The first row of siding is actually a PVC starter board so it'd have to be notched to put trim below all the horizontal sliders. And there isn't a lot of room around the bay windows for trim. I guess I'm indifferent on the trim. What's your opinion?

Thank you @eastbay10--I remember them from when we were getting quotes the last time around, but hadn't picked them up in my search this time for some reason. Will give him a call! We used Sinan's Windows years ago, which was a Wooden Window competitor, but unfortunately I have no idea where the folks from either of those shops landed after both closed. I have gotten recommendations for Portals in El Sobrante, but they are booking a year out, which won't work for our project. Sharing in case it does for yours, though! ETA: Well, bummer. Frameworks has apparently closed too. :(
