Same sofa in two different rooms

Hi everyone,
This is my first post, so here goes.

We just bought a home and are looking to furnish most of the house. Is it too weird to have the exact same sofa in both the family room and living room? The sofa will be slipcovered, so we will choose different slipcovers and accent pillows. Also, we are looking to have a chair in each room, and we'd pick different chairs for both rooms.
I'd appreciate all your advice on this! Thank you!

I think it is fine since you are doing different slipcovers. I doubt anyone will even notice they are the same style.

I think it's competely fine, but there are so many pretty sofas out there, i could never choose the same one twice!

Metallic gold is fine for the powder room but you require a stronger bolder pattern like this one below. No powder room has double sinks though You could use the same wallpaper in a different colorway for the entry, but I think you could be more creative and not spend that much money. I see no problem with this, and IF you ever want to move the rugs to different rooms (or maybe in a different house), you know they'll match. Sounds like it's a future-proof choice.

Just curious - why the same sofa? Did you have two identical ones in the same room in a previous home? Anyway, with different coverings there shouldn't be any problem.

We just bought our first home and have to furnish everything. We were going to go with a slip-covered sofa for the living room and a normal sofa for the family room. We have a 2 year old so we thought a washable slip cover was a better option. We have been to a million stores and sat on several sofas, and liked this particular one, so we were wondering if it is even normal to just get the same slipcovered sofa in different colors.

We also have been sofa shopping. It was a challenge to find one that fit us comfortably (not too deep or too soft, etc.). We finally found one we like. If we needed more than one, we would definitely get two of the same.

Comfort is more important than style, so go with the sofa that fits your family best. The fact that you can cover one with a slip cover for a different look is an added bonus.

Talk about a challenge. We were barely able to purchase a chair for our bedroom. Comfort is everything.
If this sofa works, go for it.

Maybe buy one and see how you like for a few months before buying a second?

Ellendi - we are the same way, which is one more reason we are looking at the slipcovered - it is more cheaper than the normal sofa, and we are counting every single dollar and penny at this point since there are a few things we have to fix in the house as well.
And yes - comfort is very important,so we'll have to figure this out. We like both sofas, but the non-slipcovered is definitely nicer and more comfortable. But we also don't want our son to pour juice on it or something. Plus, the savings would be nice if we were to get the slipcovered.
Anyway, thank you all! It helps to have objective opinions.
