My newest project nearly finished

Here is my pieced top...I'm hoping to get it quilted this weekend... I am going to put random circles in all different sizes all over it...no patter overlapping and mish mashed. This was probably the fussiest quilt I have done... it drove me nuts I unpicked a bagillion times... I'm not good with random colour placement it drove me batty!! But I'm happy with the finished product. This quilt was from the may/June issue of Quiltmaker... I saw it in the mag and just happened to have the fabrics!

Thanks, dirtpig (love your user name!) DD is very grateful--people are always telling us how she sings our praises! She's a pretty special young lady, so we are happy to do what we can to make her day memorable. Plus, it beats spending hundreds of $$ on a church or hall that we would never see again. At least we get to enjoy it afterwards!! Thanks to you, Connie--yes, I am very blessed to have a man that not only knows how to do construction, but WILL do it! :) I can't imagine what this place would look like if I didn't have his help...not like this, I'm sure! He's the one who wanted to buy it, so I remind him of that when he starts to fizzle (lovingly, of course!!). The path is gorgeous -- as are all your wonderful projects! And thanks for letting us know how you are doing after surgery. Keep us posted. It's wonderful how the body will heal after major surgery and positive thoughts. I'm sure happy with the new knee I got a year ago. And Bob, my mulch guy, is happy not having to do the watering although he was a sweet heart and did the best he could when he had to do it :-)

Wow Angie it looks awesome. And I don't have to ask you if your Alex likes it, it shows! As for the lockers, I just read about, and bought but have not tried yet, Floetrol latex additive that help eliminate brush or roller stokes. It's $6.47 for a quart at HoDe. I bought some for painting furniture until hubby gets finished with our stain room so we can put up the spray tent. P.S. Make sure you have a high quality brush too. Thank you Ruthie, I am still making these little outfits. Each one gives me an idea for the next one. It's funny how little scraps and leftovers can become something new. I recently turned a long sleeved dress jacket into short sleeved. I then turned the cut off sleeves into both a pair of slacks for Barbie and another pair for Ken. I like taking ideas from the fabrics themselves. I made a top for Barbie that had hearts in the print. I made a pair of capris out of denim and then sewed little hearts on them with a stitch my machine makes. On another outfit the pants were multicolored stripes so I made a white T-shirt and then stitched design stripes in all the colors in the pants. I hope you are having as much fun as I am.

Just love the fabric, not seen that before. And the location is perfect - would have to travel miles for that from where I live.

Meghan, I saw that pattern and saved it for future use... I thought the use of the variety of colors was really nice, and the black really sets it off. One of these days I will get started on it. I liked how yours came out... the circle idea for quilting sounds neat.

It's beautiful. The black does the trick. I saw that pattern in Quiltmaker and thought it looked great-filed it away as an idea for a future quilt.TFS.

I have to LOL here. After not posting in forever, 2 in 1 day.

Beautiful quilt by the way. The fabric is called Mirror Ball Dots by Michael Miller. I have 2 quilts in production now with that fabric line. I got the 40 fat quarter pack.

Yes thats it Mirrored ball, by Michael Miller. My MIL and I bought the FQ package too, I used 19 in this quilt :)

I LOVE Michael Miller's fabrics... usually when I am drawn to something I find that it is his:)

I love black with bright colors. Nice color choices. I agree that one of the hardest things to do is random placement but you did a nice job. How many different fabrics did you use? I think it would be pretty done in Batiks as well. Jayne

Meghan Â your quilt is fantastic. I hate to copy what Teresa said but I agree. ItÂs new and classic at the same time. ItÂs striking. IÂm also a huge Michael Miller fan. I love how you used that line. Really Nice!

I think I've seen that pattern as "Chinese Coins". I love the black to set everything off.

I'm in the process of making a similar quilt for my mother, but my strips are random width. I'm using all the scraps from the bed quilt I made to make a lap-sized quilt. I'd love to use black, but alas, I'm going to use a dusty rose color for the sashes and borders.

I like yours MUCH better, LOL!

But my mom will love the one I'm making for her. Gotta please the recipient.
