Pocket Door within Bathroom?
Comments (9)Thanks everyone. I appreciate your comments. The bathroom is a total gut job, moving all the plumbing around to make it more functional. More expense than I wanted, but with 3 daughters sharing it, I figure it's worth it in the long term. We have pocket doors elsewhere in the house, and I absolutely love them. The pocket door will be in a wall that will indeed have plumbing on the tub side. I'm figuring, based on what GC has said, that the wall will be about 10" thick. Might not be the optimum situation, but I'd rather have that than put the plumbing on the other end of the tub, which would place it in an outside wall. If I can figure it out, I'll post a floorplan. We won't be starting this project for at least another month, but I'm kinda OCD (or maybe anal!) about things, so I'm trying to work out every last detail ahead of time....See MoreVintage Door Refinishing Ideas/Bathroom Pocket Door

Comments (10)The best way to approach this is to first have an accurate diagram of your entire floorplan with dimensions of everything. The last thing you want to do is to spend a great deal of $$$ adding onto your home with a dysfunctional layout that will reduce the value of your property. I've seen additions that turn a functional floorplan into something that is not at all functional and you don't want to go there. None of us can give you any advice with the information provided other than seek out an architect. You could get better advice with the floorplan and its dimensions including doorways and windows and closet areas....See MoreBathroom Layout Thoughts Please!
Comments (2)@cpartist Thanks for alerting me that my plans didn't post. I had added them when I posted originally, but I didn't get an error message and in my haste, didn't notice they hadn't posted. I've changed the file type and added them now....See Morebrickeyee
