Travels with Jodi - Bamboo Forest

I have so many photos from my recent trip to Japan, Russia and Alaska that I'd like to share. I calculated it would take 7.4 years to show them all to you if I posted one a day in the "I'll Show You Mine, You Show Me Yours" post, so I decided to bunch some of them up in my own daily Travels with Jodi post.

I spent roughly six hours sorting through, preparing and uploading the rest of my Kobe, Japan photos and all of my Tokyo photos this weekend and I still have 1,800 photos to go through.

The photos below were taken in a small bamboo forest in Setagayaku, a suburb of Tokyo where my childhood friend Tetsuro and his family live.

Tetsuro took my travel friend Marilyn and I on a walking tour around his home for about three hours. I know his home and neighborhood well. I had told Marilyn all about the wonderful area where Tetsuro lives so she was just thrilled to be able to see it.

They say bamboo grows so fast that you can literally hear and see it grow. Not sure that's true but here Marilyn shows Tetsuro how much she just heard it grow. :-)

Tetsuro is an extremely sweet and funny man but almost every picture I have of him, he looks very serious.
