Can you please help me choose a rug for my foyer?
Comments (31)Yes, it is rough on the feet. My 10 yr old son complained! I don't think I would put one in a room where you might sit or lie on the floor. I've heard that it softens over time. Will be interesting to see if that happens. Right now I almost always have socks on, but once it warms up I will be barefoot most of the time. I am wondering if I will hate it then. Hope not, because I love the way it looks. At first, my powder room door would drag. But, it was not sitting totally flat due to being rolled up during shipping. Now, it's flat and the door is fine. But, I suspect if your door is real low, it might not work....See MoreHelp me choose a foyer rug!
Comments (24)I think 2x3 will be too small. The door is 36". Here is a pic of a cheapo LNT rug that is 24x44. I don't think I'd want it any smaller. I think I'll check Tuesday Morning. I've only seen smaller rugs there--maybe I'll get lucky. Or at least I can get a better feel for what works colorwise--as I'm kinda stumped on this one situated as it is between two other rugs, one of which is a real beauty....See Morecolors and style for 8' round area rug in foyer
Comments (5)If you decide to use a round table, I would look for wood, or a wood base with glass. Don't add more stone - you have enough of that with your floors. I think you could use a rug instead though, with your current furniture. I would be inclined to use a large rectangular rug in front of the doors instead of a round one in the middle of the foyer. Darker colors would be a nice contrast to your lighter floors and walls....See MoreOne area rug or two in foyer entry way?
Comments (12)Does the rug need to function as a doormat to keep dirty, wet, or snowy shoes off the wood floors or do you live somewhere that has dry, warm weather? If you use that entry as a place where the family takes off their dirty shoes and guests wipe off their shoes, then I would vote for one large rectangular rug directly inside the door and don't skimp on the size. A round rug requires walking on the wood to reach the rug so it wouldn't function well as a doormat....See Morebac717
