Is There a Place Online to Print Out Divorce Forms?

It's for a friend of mine. The divorce will be uncontested and we've been told there are forms online you can fill out,print,sign and have notarized, then all you have to pay is the filling fee at the Court House.

I tried doing a search, but seem to always end up on some attorney's site!!

Try your county superior court's web page. Ours has them available online.

The standard modifications to the stock tank can be found on the Skippy's stuff site. Others have done various changes to the basic design as they decided they needed. can I 'fill out a form' on pdf without downloading a new program

Instead of scanning the form as a .pdf, scan it as a .rtf (RICH TEXT FORMAT). You should be able to select this under SCAN DOCUMENT SETTINGS. Then open the .rtf file with your word processor and edit as needed. After editing, save it as a .doc if you wish and then print-fax-email as needed or you can convert to .pdf if needed by using a free online pdf converter.

I saw an article on MSNBC.com a while back about this topic and Legalzoom.com supposed to be the best one. It's founded by one of OJ Simpson's attorneys (if I remember correctly, it's Robert Shapiro and some other guy). They have a brick & mortar office in Hollywood-CA too. It's consider the best because the documents are tailored according to each county's rules and regulations, down to what color paper the documents should be printed on in order to be compliant to the county's rule. Plus your application is also reviewed by real attorneys before being filed. If you want to hire an attorney just to prepare your docs and file them for you, the cost should be around $500 and up + expenses, depending on where you are. Good luck! Personally, I'd leave blank the SSNs. And a little preview - this same school will send the same forms every single year your child is enrolled- because they can't track someone who sends in a form with "Same as last year", LOL. Yes, I know divorces take place, and information can change. But if it hasn't changed they should be able to cope with it. I did send in all the forms, clipped together, labeled "same as last year", and I always got calls from the school office "You must fill out the forms!" Nope, our information hasn't changed - you transfer it.

If you have a local public library they may have some info....Don't know however.

Yes, I'm sure that they are, but I don't know where exactly they can be found. My DD did her own divorce while she was in college.

Looks like legalzoom charges and there's nothing on the country website. We heard she could get them at the library,but all they do is print them off from online..then charge!

This site looks like they charge $9.99 for the forms--not bad if you can't find free ones. (You are in Alabama, right? If not, you can click for other states.)

But first I'd recommend you call the courthouse. I know you said there's nothing on their website, but maybe they have the forms available in person.

If she can't afford the fees for the forms, can she afford the filing fee? She should pay a visit to the courthouse and ask for help there. I'm sure you'll get help there.

She's going to the library tomorrow. The filing fee won't be a problem, it's just that if it's something she can do herself, why pay a lawyer $300-$400 to do it? lol

Your State Supreme Court website should have them. Free for the download.
