dead tired, I haven't driven one yet... :) I need to. We had that record size tornado with all the side effects after I left home. My daughter emptied my fridge, cause no one knew, how long the electricity would be off.

Now, I cleaned it out, and need to re stock.

Life sure is interesting.

Do I read it right? Houston to Idabel? 317ish miles?! Wow. You're more than a trooper. What's higher than a trooper? Whatever that is, that's you. Good to see you enjoyed yourself and enjoyed getting home.

Rob, it was just shy of 400 miles! In fact, it was 399.57 miles! Don't have the overall total figured yet. Keep looking. I am still entering the last day.

Thanks for the pictures and comments. It puts traveling on a different perspective. We get alot of bikes traveling in this state and in most part are very well welcomed in the small towns. Lots of
Canadians travel here also. Maybe someday your group can travel here. Either spring or fall is good. Most towns have city parks but again times are changing due to the oil boom. Do have to watch for the trucks and bad roads.

Moni if you are ever in the Kerrville area and need a place to overnight you are welcome to stay at our place. We have a guest room that is on the other side of the house from ours and would be happy to have you stay with us....even if you just need a shower and to rest for a few hours that would be fine too...

It was a total of 54 days. My longest so far, was the coast to coast.. total of 80 days, riding days were 65.

Its too bad you picked up a disentary bug on the last lap, otherwise, It was a great trip. I know I am not good enough shape to entertain a bike trip of a tenth of the distance you have covered on this one.

Your trip reminds me of great biking venture I saw while auto touring the west and camping in national parks. While in Bryce Canyon, a group of about 40 people arrived on bicycles. They are biking Utah, except they had it easier than you. This was a commercial adventure tour. Each day, a crew motored ahead of the group, set up camp, and made food arrangements. All the bikers needed to do was pedal their bikes and take pictures. The crew struck camp in the mornings, cleaned up the campsite, and transported sleeping bags, grills, etc. One van, the sag wagon, lagged behind and watched for straglers and flat tires. Oh yes, there was another benefit: The bicycle mechanic had a supply of parts and made repairs. Bike touring does not get better (lazier) than this. They could afford to expend energy partying each evening.

Jemdandy, they also paid a huge amount of money. I haven't done one of those kind of tours yet... but saw them on some of my trips. Yes, they look like fun... but I was surprised to hear their participants complain on how far they "had to ride". Meanwhile, Mel and I rode longer distances with our loads.

Go figure.
