Comments (28)On Friday morning Carol and I drove to Ocala to visit with Patti and Harry. The weather was nasty rain and cold. We arrived at their house and received a warm welcome and hugs. After visiting for a little bit Patti and Carol went into the kitchen where Patti finished preparing lunch and Carol visited with her. Harry and I were chatting up a storm in the living room. Lunch was wonderful and topped off with a mouth watering triffle. We talked and talked and could have talked more but we needed to head back to my cousins house. Patti loaded us up with lots of food to take back to share with my cousin Timm. It is great to have made a couple of new friends that we plan on visiting again next year....See MoreVictorian home picture tour (Pic heavy)

Ha! newdawn, when we bought our house, the heating/lights/water bill here was more than our old house's mortgage! igloochick, you will have to put in intercoms for DS and any future ice cubes... My kids were young when we moved into our house and they would loose me. My house isn't nearly as big as your will be. We painted our house for $17,000. You have one lifetime project ahead of you....See MoreVintage Kitchens - Portland (PDX) Kitchen Revival Tour April 14
Comments (6)I missed that thread, but maybe she'll see this one. As I recall, last year I was trying to organize a rolling KF meetup at the tour, namely that each Kitchen Forumarian would wear or carry some distinguishing item by which we'd recognize each other, like Cold War spies. "A folded Financial Times from three days ago until the left arm means it is safe; under the right arm means danger; unfolded means sauve qui peut.. Good luck, Mister Bond.". That sort of thing. If any Forumarians end up coming, we can try the rolling meetup again. I'll be wearing a black "Peugeot" cycling cap and chrome Ray-Ban Wayfarers....See Morebest fabricators in PDX area?
Comments (4)StoneWorks did our kitchen granite couple years ago. We enjoyed working with Mark, installation went well and we still love the granite. Working on bath remodel now and went back to StoneWorks and looked through their "boneyard" behind the shop. They are real easy going. I took at least two trips armed with vanity drawer, picture that will go on the wall and floor sample and searched until i found the "perfect" top. I did go in the office first and asked permission to look through the boneyard. We had sink hole cut, front & 2 sides eased edge with tiny bevels on 2 front corners - size 22 1/2 by 42 (2 cm size, they carry both) and cost was very reasonable. They did not need to come to house - took in sink template and picked up finished top that we mounted ourselves. Did miss working with Mark who i am sure was working on larger projects but i love the new top. If you do go to StoneWorks and are still looking for a bathtub take the extra time to go down 99E to FiberFab and check them out - got our soaking tub there and i love it! Karen...See MoreJohn Liu
