This is the post for members of the "Quilters Dozen" to write when they have sent their Birthday Block to Sue (polardream).

Sue will also reply here when she receives them.

Remember, even though Sue's birthday is 3rd Jan, she will be away till the end of the month. This will give you extra time to get hers away.

Not sure but could be INCA APOTHECARY. And as for the other one, possibly BLACK FALCON RITUAL or it could have been STEALTH BOMBER before I moved it to the back garden. From the position of the bed in the photos, I have mostly Curt's in that area. Space is nice but I have to keep reminding myself that the more gardens you add, the more weeding and maintaining you have to do. I may have to hire help this year and I think the question I'll ask each potential hire is "do you like to weed". We hit zero degrees on Tuesday night. Snow on the ground here and I just try to keep myself busy with other projects otherwise I start to get anxious about gardening LOL. Woke up this morning to no electric and the house was down to 57 degrees with outside temp at 7 degrees. All is good now and the furnace is trying to get the temp back up inside.Thank goodness the sun is shining bright :) I haven't finished organizing photos as I had hoped. Perhaps in another week . Happy Birthday!!! Your friend would want you to remember her and all the good times. I am sorry for your loss. Linda, I understand the 'momentary brightness' the birthday blocks bring you from these virtual friends at this sad time. I speak from experience.......the only thing that made me smile for a few seconds were the birthday blocks I had just opened that were laying out on the floor to greet me each night I came home........this virtual birthday block relationship unknowingly helped me get thru some bleak days.......Enjoy your blocks. Condolences to her family and friends.

Last year I only had one pair of slip on - no back loafers type leather shoes (easy airport shoes). My feet and shoes got wet from the dew - not a big deal to sew, as I also sew without shoes- but the the floor in the Sloan Center got kinda messy from our shoes. I'm bringing another pair to use to walk outside to avoid this. I still need easy slip on for the airport.

Dan, I was never a fan of the HST, measuring to the 7/8', sew on either side of the diagonal, cut etc., etc. This year I was introduced to the easy angle tool and while many quilters may poo-poo it, going to class and learning this tool has made HST a breeze for me. Kristene...It was a pleasure to meet you at the retreat this year. I'm glad you are enjoying the Amish country, it's just an hour or so away from my home base and I do marvel at the handiwork you can find in the area. Also, lots of great quilt stores...The old country store in Intercourse PA and the Log Cabin Quilt Shop in Bird in Hand PA (just a few miles apart) are two of my favorites for great fabric buys. Maybe you'll have a chance to check them out. Enjoy the remainder of your stay in the States...you're a lovely lady, so happy to have met you...looking forward to the Birthday exchange this year. Valeie, your package arrived yesterday... will wait to open!

We are leaving Monday for Arizona, so if any other packages arrive before we return in January I will not be able to post since we are having the mail held.

Hi All! I have been pretty much out of contact on the forum since mid-December. We are still in Arizona and heading to Las Vegas tomorrow for a little R & R from the hectic holiday pace (hahahahah!). We will head back to Colorado around Jan 14/15. To celebrate on the 3rd we are going to see "Rock of Ages" at the Venetian theater - woohoo! Take care & will be looking forward to my goodies when I get home.

We came back to Colorado a little early - got in last night about 9pm. Went through the mail today and decided to open the goodies I have received. They are all great! So far I have received from:
