When Wes came home I showed him my four choices; three sets were "possibles" and one was "impossibly-expensive." He didn't like the "large-round-pull-in-the-center-of-the-door-Hobbit style," so we went with ones similar to what LindyLuWho posted. (But someday I will have a dark green, red, or purple door with a round, brass doorknob in dead center! LOL) Here's the style we chose. We opted for the brushed nickle finish in the 9-inch length. Of course they didn't have a photo of that size and finish, so this doesn't look anything like the real pulls.

For those of you who have this style of door, do you like them? We had bifolds on our master closet. The room is small and one end opened right behind the door into the room, so the door had to be shut to open the closet on that end. They were a total PITA - hated them - so a year or more ago I pulled them off and we've had the closet open to the room ever since. I've been searching for options but haven't come across anything I like well enough to go to the trouble of actually doing it. The closet is a reach in and opening is six feet. There is not enough room on the wall on each side to do an exterior-hung sliding door to leave the closet fully accessible, which is what I'd prefer. Any opinions or other ideas would be appreciated.

Just thinking outside the box. You seem to have a lovely sitting area in adjacent room along with a fireplace. Consider if you set this up as another sitting area and spending a fair amount doing do so, will it be used very much. Maybe consider a space to enjoy tv/PlayStation, games table, foosball, etc. and can be a great spot for the grandkids but with bar area nearby, it will a spot enjoyed by the adults as well. We had a small pool table and it was pretty popular. Table below has multiple uses and can be easily stored against the wall. Bean bags are pretty flexible and can moved around when room being used as a guest bedroom ir when not in use for better flow. A floor plan will also be easy to work with - if you moved the Murphy bed to wall where couch is, the entire other side of room is now useable space as the leisure area - tv on low unit between windows in a wood tone to match bed

A remarkable failure to answer a simple question with unambiguous information. If I assume that the OP is referring to an BLOWN OIL-FIRED BOILER that uses household air, then it can back-draft at perhaps as high 0.08 inches of water (20 Pa) negative pressure, depending on chimney leakage, but I wouldn't want to depend on that. I don't doubt that at some hood volumetric flow rate, back-drafting can occur even in a leaky house. Perhaps in this case it won't. Approaching 0.08 inches, w.c., is significant relative to hood blowers, however, so along with the baffles and duct pressure losses, there will be additional pressure loss from the leakage MUA affecting flow rate. If this were my house, I would (and did) install an MUA system for the furnace, which are typically passive and use 4-inch duct. These are made for common oil burner assemblies. Boiler MUA will avoid back-drafting at the intake, but there may be exhaust leakage from the chimney (old masonry chimneys are not truly sealed unless updated with internal ducting), or even from the flue test port. Then there is the dryer, presumably gas fired and minimally if at all blown. This will have a much lower threshold of back-drafting than an oil burner, perhaps 0.01 inches. Fireplaces have a very low back-draft threshold depending on the induced draft from a hot fire. Starting a fire under negative pressure conditions could be challenging. All of this ignores what flow rate is appropriate for the actual cooking surface and a hood sized to overlap it. A proper hood 4.5 ft x 2 ft would have an entry area of 9 sq. ft. requiring 810 CFM for good performance. This would potentially be available from a 1200 CFM rated blower, given likely baffle, duct, and house negative pressure losses. So the question still unanswered is what CFM led to what house pressure using the door test?
