Thank all of you for your kind words, does an old gal real good! you see my quilts probably more then my family, to answer some questions, New2 I do both hand and machine on quilts, depends on the effect I want, no reason not to use all the things out there, Islay, the cat block I took from a wall art free pattern I had, but it was a racoon, and we had punkinhead, so seemed natural that he get in the quilt too. The tree on the Nigerian quilt was machine stitched. Marti, I usually sketch on butcher paper, they are my own designs, but I have used coloring books for things at other times. the backing fabric is a joke on me! by me I guess, had some of the dogs and needed a larger amount for this quilt ran into Walmart and grabbed, as the lady cut I kept busy with beads and things, wasn't until I was ready to get the backing washed that I saw I had grabbed the cats, thought that was sort of funny, jokes on me. Just fabulous (yes, thanks to the poster who linked it directly)! Love it all, the fabric, yes very Pink Panther, the colors & esp. the setting. How to you get the black sashing so even looking (or is it pre-made tape, bias maybe)? A caution: pls. think twice before backing it w/ solid black. Black is a notoriously unstable dye/pigment. We learned this quickly at Textile School. Recently, a favorite teacher at my LQS showed a beautiful foundation pieced work, which had a hole or 2 near the middle of complex piecing. She explained it was the solid black, that other than being unstable dye as I knew, she said fabric producers often overdye black over other fabric 'mistakes' & that can make even more problems. She said over time the black just degraded (rotted) away. She suggested rather than solid flat black, use a small black tone on tone or tiny print; they might fare better over time. Forewarned is forearmed especially on such a beautiful work, well done indeed!

Red  your braid looks really good. I want to try that too some day. ThatÂs going to be a really cute quilt! I was looking at the braid and thinking to myself "wow, I have that same fabric, thatÂs amazing because IÂve had it for years" Ha Ha and then I realized I sent it in the string swap. LOL! Nina
