I am not an expert on insects, but it appears to be a mud dauber.

I take it back...I did a search online and came up with: Ammophila thread-waisted wasp.

mare_wbpa & alisande.....Thank you! I like doing projects & keeping things out of the land fills. I actually missed getting several swings before I found this one. I had to drive to a nearby town to pick it up. They sell replacement seats, but they cost what the swing did.
