? secure entry door

Both of my next door neighbors homes were recently broken into. Their rear doors were kicked in. The police said it appeared they contemplated breaking into my door (there was disturbed dirt by by my rear entrance) but decided against it. Presumably because of my storm door which was locked with a dead bolt. I suppose that would have slowed them down so they decided against it. Because my rear door is mostly glass I have decided to replace it in an effort to forestall any breakins in the future. I have reinforced the door frame, and will be changing the locks to a better grade of lock. My question concerns the door. Is there a difference in security between a wood or a fiberglass door? Would one be easier to kick in than the other? Or does the ease of kicking in depend more on the door frame and or lock? Just trying to increase the odds that the teenagers with too much time on their hands will bypass my house the next time they decide to burglarize my street.

Thanks for any suggestions.''
