I've bought a few things from QVC, and for the most part was happy with what I bought, and their return policy was, no question, except for paying the postage to get the item and then return it, but to watch the programs of pitch, as a tV show, I don't think so. Dottie

susan I have bought from the Shopping Channel when occasions such as birthdays are nearing, I will tune in to see what they are selling. I purchased a few pieces of jewellery over the years that were extremely good buys, becaue I later had them assessed at several times the price I had paid, and they were very impressed with the quality and could not believe I had ordered them from a t.v. show.

I have returned two things over the years, because they looked much better on t.v., but they will cover the postage for any item if you write on the return invoice that you are dissatisfied with the quality. My daughter bought a great winter coat at a really good price and I bought a really beautiful imitation Tiffany lamp for $180 that I saw in a lighting store for $650, so there really are some great deals to be found. However, I am not hooked on watching it and only tune in when I would have to go shop for something anyway.

DD has already informed her boyfriend that when they are ready to get engaged, he can buy her a wedding band, but she would rather get her engagement ring from the shopping channel, because they sell amazing look alikes for a few hundred dollars that would cost upwards of $10,000 if they were real diamonds. They are actually more beautiful because they are set in real 14K or 18K gold, but the fake diamonds are flawless in cut, clarity and colour and there is obviously no risk they are blood diamonds. I bought a tennis bracelet about 10 years ago when DH was wanting to buy me something for our 20th anniversary. Whenever I step into a jewellery store, the jewellers compliment me on it, and when I finally told one that it was a fake, he did not believe me until he tested it with a little electronic gadget used to test diamonds. He kept shaking his head and said he thought it was a $20,000 bracelet because it was so flawless, and added that the gold setting alone was worth far more than the $400 we paid for the entire bracelet.

So needless to say, DDs boyfriend is thrilled she would rather have a fake diamond engagement ring for a fraction of the price, that will leave them all that extra money to invest elsewhere. I agree that the talking is very tedious, but I guess there are only so many ways they can keep describing the same item, so I usaully shut off the t.v. after seeing something I want and just order it directly from their online website. I never put the t.v. on when company is over anyway, so if I bore my guests, it is my own fault, lol.

Way back when... back when I first got cable, and when QVC was starting up, it was more entertainment value to the shows. Also the cookware, cooking type shows were far more entertaining when there was a good host on. They would stop at the store on the way to the studio and pick up what they needed and make something. Obviously the ones who knew how to cook could do something special. For others it was hot dogs & beans! They'd joke and have a good time. Now it's so much junk jewelry and more prim & proper so it's not as entertaining, or I should say it was, last time I saw it which has been years since I dropped cable many years ago now. In the middle of the night there was nothing on, and it was sort of the prelude to infomercials.

I will say I have bought some things from them. Bought some things from Home Shopping Network too but the things there were nowhere near as good quality, as I suspected from the start. I think I've bought 4 things from HSN and returned 3. I've returned only a small percentage to QVC. One was recalled and one or two didn't work. Otherwise I've been happy with the purchases.

Of course the different shopping channels will vary. But if it's name brand stuff I'm more comfortable. Plus I do like doing gift shopping this way. I hate going to stores. Let UPS deliver it.

My neighbor buys things from there too. But she's not obsessed, she just looks for certain things. My DD just buys from their website, usually. . MIL is always wanting us to go over to her house, and when we do, she can't take her eyes off the TV.

If I shopped on there, I would be like Pickyshopper and just decide what I want, turn the TV off and order it. I can't see it as entertainment either.

I couldn't watch it on a regular basis, as a regular tv show, but I do like some of the stuff they sell. They had a good deal on a Dyson recently. We were wishing we needed a vacuum, cause we swear our next one will be a Dyson.

My former SIL is a regular on our Canadian show, she sells jewellery. I'd love to buy some of the "diamonelle" stuff. Look so real at a fraction of the price.

I have watched on a sleepless night in the wee hours. People call in who have bought that stuff previously, especially jewelry. You can tell that they are addicted. They buy one of everything in the line and maybe even more than one for gifts. So sad.

I ordered a few things from QVC years ago, jewelry and clothing. When my DH found out, he blocked QVC from all our TVs. That's okay, I can always buy things at stores...

I cannot stand to watch those channels. I always feel like they are trying to pull a fast one on us.

I'm not obsessed but I do occasionally buy from both QVC and HSN. DH laughed when I purchased heating/ice pads. He uses them quite often. Swore he'd never laugh at anything I purchased from them again.
If we have company we turn the TV off and put on the stereo in the background so we can talk.

I surfed and bought 3 or 4 items and returned 2 of those. I don't watch so I am not tempted. I do buy music CD's from the infomercials. I like hearing music before I buy.

i do buy from QVC because i use most of Philosophy's products & Bare Escentuals. QVC offers large economy sizes that neither Philospohy or Bare Escentuals offers anywhere else. you can order something on a sat and by tue or wed have it. they have a wonderful rating system on their website so you can tell what others' experience w/ a product is. they also have great customer service.

a couple of yrs ago i took a chance on some petite stretch boot cut jeans and they worked out great. since then i have bought other clothes, mostly susan graver, that i have been very very happy w/. i recently got a susan graver blouse that was a copy of a blouse picked by Vogue magazine as a must have for summer, that was well over $1000, mine was $40 and looks exactly like the vogue high end version. i usually don't watch them on TV thou right now i am LOL it's Philosophy's 10th Anniversary...lots of specials and deals ;-) ~ liz
