I was ready to love soapstone, now I'm not sure

I visited a local stoneyard today. They are a supplier of Dorado soapstone. I went there expecting to hear angels singing in heaven when I saw the soapstone; but didn't. I brought home a couple of samples, I wanted to be blown away by their performance; but wasn't. I thought they'd match my cabinets perfect; they didn't. Now I'm so confused, I don't know what to do.

The samples I brought home were Minas and Belazo. The Minas shows stains and water marks terribly and scratches easily. The Belazo performs much better, but is more green than I'd like. They did have a sample of honed Oceania granite that I loved but it's out of my price range and I've heard honed granites don't perform well. Why oh why is the perfect countertop material not made? I'm ready to throw in the towel and install a black Corian. Any insight?
