This might make even ME want to do applique!

Hi Laurie, You have quite a few options (if no one from this forum has any to suggest): 1. Google "Applique quilt patterns" and see what you get--you may find some free ones in the process. 2. Go to your nearest grocery store, or drug store that sells magazines, find a nice quilting one and look it over. 3. (My favorite choice) Go to a book store or fabric store and check out the quilting books--if you happen to have a JoAnn coupon or if they're having a sale, you're in luck. 4. Go to your local library. I've found some really nice quilting books at mine. 5. Ask a friend. Not matter what you do, half the fun is searching, if you ask me!

I was at Walmart on Friday, so I picked up a table cloth. I think I'll need 2, but I'll try this one to see how it does. Jayne, that heart you pointed out was one of my least favorite that I did. I really got tired of all those inside curves. Even though they are easier than outside curves, it got old, really fast! The BA class I took used Elly's, Baltimore Beauties and Beyond, Volume 1. It really is good at showing the basics and builds on them so you get a good understanding of how to do the blocks. I had a good teacher, too.

Just for the record - I noticed ~ and appreciate~ how perfect your little rows of dots line up :) ~ you did a great job! Your plaid looks good too - I think your attention to this detail makes this basket really, really pleasing. This snowman is my favorite block so far in this series ~Are you going to add the buttons / pompoms / etc at the end? It might be easier to decide then. I was so far ahead, but now I am behind :) I need to work on May's block.

Funny you should ask!!! I have drooled over this BOM since I saw it this time last year. I haven't gotten any further than really wishing it wasn't so expensive and I don't see myself ever caving in on it. Got no problem trying to copy it from pictures, though. What I did get is the fabric (when Kate posted Quilted Magik's sale) pre-printed panels that they are selling for the pumpkin patch table runner. They're charging 50 bucks for a one panel kit, and I got two full panels for $9.00. BTW, it really is some stunning high quality fabric. It has very vivid, saturated colors and detailed art quality printing. It is also still on sale for $4.50 a panel from Quilted Majik. My dear friend and neighbor is NUTS for Halloween. Her house is a trick or treat destination every year because of her haunted sidewalk--you'd have to see it to believe it, and she has costumed friends in place to jump out at you. My plan is to make her something from the panels, like a wall hanging or lap quilt. She's the one who has a signed family quilt from the 1850's...I kinda cringe at using pre-printed panels, but they are lovely and well, it is what it is, just a little panel wall hanging for fun.

I've been saving them. I saw a finished quilt in difffernt colors and it was really cute.

My machine applique eeally needs work lol! When I do this one I may do it as a QAYG.

Her BOMs are cute. The flickr site shows how they look in different fabrics, which is fun to see.

I just finished the top for 2010's Bunny Hill snowbound (needs ironing and quilting!). The snowmen are all wool felt, all machine appliques and hand embroidered. It will get more buttons and embellishments after quilting. I chose to do a standard sashing instead of the Irish Chain in the pattern.

I'm still working on the Tisket Tasket BOM of hers from 2009! I have through July done, will by very happy when I finally get that one done!

I choose not to do this year's (partially because I had two unfinished UFO BOMs), and to me the background was too busy, but I saved the patterns in case I ever need a cute squirrel!

I like those blocks. I am new to this site and hope to learn how to get my quilts up on it. I have to get some ink and print those patterns. Right now I also have a few projects in the making going on. thank you Grace

new2, love that Snowbound quilt! The red used with the blue background makes it a seasonal quilt - not just for the Christmas holidays. When I saw Snowbound on the web site, I thought "now that's an applique quilt I could love!"

I thought I had posted about the Snowbound quilt but don't see it. I really like the quilt.....snowmen are as versatile as SunBonnet Sue.....love snowmen but only when I'm inside looking out. @:)

I remember your Snowmen BOM from when we were trying to do an organized BOM here! You finished yours-yay! They are adorable, and I really like your simple sashing.

Teresa, the squirrel BOM is very cute - but the squirrels here are a huge nuisance - they keep trying to raise their families in my attic - I hate squirrels!! lol

LOL!!! We had so many squirrels in Florida and it was a riot watching DH figure out a way to keep them from the bird seed. When he finally found a pole that they couldn't climb up they started jumping at the feeder from the fence!

Love the snowmen, I saved them and really want to make that one. But I also like the squirrel QUILT lol!!!!
