Today is Flag Day in the USA. Fly it proudly today and everyday.

A Tang horse I bought during my trip to China in March.
I bought it from a small vendor at the Great Wall in Mujianyu.

It didn't come with a wood base like all my other Tangs have so I asked our neighbor Burt, who is a woodworker, if he could make one for me. For a fee of course.

He made two so I had a choice, both from exotics woods, with names I can't even pronounce and had it to me in less than a week. I was thrilled with both but chose this one to use. He refused any payment.

Yesterday I took a photo of the horse and base and made a thank you card to send to him. That's why the image below is signed.

My parents were married on this day in 1919, with my Dad wearing his WWI uniform. He had just come home from the war a few days before.

Jodi....WOW! I would have purchased THAT tang horse! He's really nice! Great lines, great color....the wood stand is gorgeous. :0) I'd be happy with it too. :0)

Eventually I'll take photos of my entire Tang collection. I bought a small photo booth, the kind used for product shots. All will fit inside it except one horse which stands two feet tall.

I'm going to ask Burt to sign the base and write down the kind of wood he used.

If I had the room, I'd start collecting snuff bottles too. They are pretty cool.
