Today's assignment- I dare ya!

Wear something out of your closet that you haven't worn for at least a year. I was just reading something about wearing white dresses and they showed some cute sandals. Hey, I have sandals just like those! So I'm going to wear them today to visit my parents and go to the store. And I'll find a few other things to go with 'em, too, that I haven't worn for a while. Things I keep but never wear. This way I'll justify their existence.

Care to join me? If not today, this upcoming week will do. I'm meeting Lydia for lunch on Thursday, so I'll do it that day too, if I can find something that'll travel well in the car. NOT LINEN! lol Although, I have this really cute lime green linen pantsuit...... hmmmmm! How wrinkly can linen get after 1.5 hours in the car?

That was easy - I'm already dressed since we're driving to visit my son and we're leaving soon. I'm wearing a cotton quilted jacket that I bought 18 months ago and never wore. However the shirt, trousers and shoes are oldies.

Oh, no! I'm trying to summon the fortitude to throw out clothes. Lots of clothes. Yesterday I managed to fill a white trash bag with a bunch of stuff. This was a big step for me! It's sitting by the front door, waiting to go to my car to be taken to Goodwill. And now you've got me thinking, I could wear that shirt that I put in the bag . . . No, no, no!!

Hi Karen, I'm not sure what comments on the box contents you're looking for. I probably don't understand what you're asking. To my understanding the box contains items that can be used to make garden junk. We aren't sending complete projects, which why I asked for a wish list when you send in your snail mail address. Hey Marlene! Re: send-to addresses I think I've been remiss in explaining this. Sorry, my oversight. I'm planning on doing it as I assumed Santa Kirk did the SS addresses. I have a list started and will assign addresses in more or less the order they come in. I will email you your addressee's info. along with items from their wish list. I've had several people sign onto the JT and ask that their personal info not be circulated at large. The only way I could think to give out addresses and keep some form of privacy is with the above method. If you have a better idea of how to do this please let me know. Sylvia

I was just thinking I should add up what I've spent already: $167 just the other day for a trellis, 6 potted Summer Skies delphinium, 2 Carefree Beauty, 1 Vanso clematis, and peony hoops (for my hydrangea). Maybe about $15 on composted manure, $25 on bypass pruners, $30 on 5 small Yews for some evergreen interest. About $30 on bareroot Sarah Bernhardt peonies. So far about $267.00 I'm planning to purchase about 10 more roses yet this season which will most likely include Pretty Jessica, Konigin Van Danemark, Sharifa Asma, Frontenac, Quietness, Morden Blush, and Prairie Joy. I also may spend additional $ yet this season on blue companion plants. I seem to have a thing for pink roses with blue companions.

I haven't called Andrea yet but will try and get over there next week. You can show up but it's not a guarantee that anyone will be there. I had an idea of what I wanted when I visited last year but after the 2 hour tour came home with way more then I anticipated. lol Normally I just mail plants home but it's so unusually cold there that I'm going to have to pack everything in a sturdy box and check it as luggage. I've done this before with no problem, or damage to the plants, but was on Southwest and I didn't have to pay for additional checked bags. I'm going to have to limit myself because I'm flying Jet Blue and only get 1 free checked bag : ( I had to pass up on several passiflora vines that I saw today because they were all in 3-5 gal pots. Not only do I have to limit amounts but size as well. If I moved here I wouldn't have that problem ; )

"Shake and Bake" refers to the nickname given to the state of California, which it is not only named for, but it is the state flower for :) California is often referred to as "Shake and Bake, USA WELL DUH!...lol, FANNA WHO IS Hysterical laughing at herself for FORGETTING THIS FACT about Callie! See I am afraid to TRY any Poppy for breadseed because what if someone sends one they THINK is safe and it isn't? JASMINE, I ACCIDENTLY TYPED THE WRONG NUMBER! All is WELL it WAS Margos I was working on and since I believe I meanted the gift she gave me it was clear it was just a slip of the finger or brainwave or something along those lines..... Lisa I stayed up last night til 5:00 am or would that be stayed up this morning til? Oh well, which ever that is what I did. It is just a matter of me bring ODC and can't stop until I feel HAPPY with the results....lol!!! WOW you all are sending in some REALLY REALLY good stuff!!! I was thinking the same thing. I filled a big black bag
with clothes of mine sitting on the staircase landing
waiting to go Salvation Army. lol......Nooooo!!!!

I already beat you to it, Flamey. I am wearing a pair of pedal pushers that I haven't been able to wear for 2 yrs!! Still a tad bit snug, but wearable.

I wore a golf shirt that I must have bought years ago - and never wore ! Tags were still on it.

Welllllll, I've only lost 5 lbs. so far so I'm really doubting I'll be able to squeeze my hiney in any of the previous years capris. Can I take a raincheck until I lose about 10 more lbs? You better say "yes" otherwise it won't be a purty picture! lol

I was just going through all my old sandals (had to find room for yet another new pair) I discovered a couple pair that I had forgotten about. It's just like getting something new!
Who would have thought that footwear could take up so much space in a home! :)

I am wearing a pair of yellow crop pants that
I haven't worn since last summer. But, that may
be cheating - as I wouldn't wear these except in
summer anyway.

I did clean out my closet last month though, and had
two large bags for Charity.

Still need to get a bit more serious, though.

I don't think I can get my big butt in anything that is in the closet. What I can wear, that is in there, is winter clothes, and it is in the 90's. I will look around and see what I can find...but just recently I tossed all my clothes except a few pairs of jeans and some t shirts, for the most part. No room in here, and I figured out if I didn't have many clothes, I'd not have so much to store, even if it meant washing more often.

Oh, well......I'll see what I can find.....

That will have to be another day. LOL, I am already dressed.

Come to think of it, I don't know if I can. I wear all my clothes, a lot. Only things that don't get worn often are the really dressy things, and they just won't do while fixing up this house, or packing for moving. :)

I actually did this one already. I was looking for a comfy cool shirt to wear today. Couldn't find one. Went to the Guest room closet and found a old pink soft button down shirt that I consider to short to wear. But, it will do for around the house. Oh, I see it has a stain, Oh well!
