A nice, but puzzling surprise???

Yesterday I began work on some quilt blocks for the upcoming birthdays. When I pulled out a FQ of some white fabric, I found a small baggie with a lovely pair of pewter earrings in a quilt block design. Now....I do not remember ever buying these and I have never seen them before. So???? Where did they come from???

If anyone here on this forum sent me fabric in a swap with the earrings included....Thank you very much! And please forgive me for not mentioning this gift back when you sent them.

I agree. This has been a really unusual year. I had two rebloom flowers on Orchids and Gold today, a new scape on Joan Senior as well as Indian Ripples. The latter two have never ever rebloomed before. I don't know what gives, but I hope it "gives" again next year.. Although I heard somewhere that they are predicting a colder then normal winter for us and that could spell trouble given my pot situation.....Looking forward to Razor Sharp next year from you. The color looks like the same shade (only deeper ) as Linda Beck, which doesn't grow that well for me. But I do love the color of it though............Maryl

May I pls. ask "Closing for you, Russ." what's that about? To answer Russ' question, all 3 plants are from Stush in a box he'd shared saying they were Siam Silver. The 2 Sans. in pic above w/ small 3rd pot in front as well as the sprouted leaf, pup & newly found rhizome. In the pic w/ trio of pots, based on comments from here, it would seem the left green & white Sans w/ its longer leaves & more white in center is the Siam Silver & the green & white striped Sans on the right w/ most of its green in the center of the leaves is a Bantel's. That's how I understood it.

Something pollinated my Amaryllis or it's a self pollinator. This has never happened to my Amaryllis Bulbs before. This was the 1st stalk that bloomed, the 2nd stalk is now in bloom.

Congratulations! Long, long ago in a galaxy far away I used to enter plants and artwork into my local and state fairs and always did very well. I suppose I out grew that somewhere along the way and got too busy. But sometimes it's nice to slow down and enjoy such a simple pleasure. Maybe my son would enjoy entering a plant or two he's grown next year. I haven't given him any of my adeniums but he likes them. I should let him start his own from seed, too.

That sounds like something we might do at our house. We once found two $100.00 gift certificates in a camera box about 18 months after the Christmas that we got the camera. The store still honored them although it was printed on them that they were good for one year.

My mother used to insert bills (spending money) into Christmas cards, attached to gifts. Sometimes the recipients just opened the gifts, and didn't open the cards (thinking they were just there to designate who the gift was for) and they got thrown away. I remember her crying about it the day after Christmas, when she found out they were thrown in the trash.

Bluebars, I say anyone who rips open their gift and doesn't even LOOK at the card doesn't deserve the money!!! But I sure do feel for your mom being out the money AND learning they didn't even care to see what she wrote in the card... Wow, I'm jut stunned that they would not even LOOK at the card.

I remember a story of an aunt who gave an ornate box at a bridal shower. The bride opened the outside box, looked in and thanked the aunt. Either she didn't care for the gift or never completely unpacked and inspected it. Years later, after the aunt had passed, she found a large check in or under the box.

How hurt the aunt must have been.
How embarrassed the bride should have been.
