Comments (6)I'd also urge you to reconsider the more efficient furnace. Drilling through the foundation shouldn't be any cause for concern. It's usually possible to bore straight through and very cleanly. With the the right termination, only a single hole is required. Here's an image of the termination used when i converted from oil to gas. The plastic fixture is about about 6" or 7" in diameter, and sticks out from the wall about 8" or 9". It's barely noticeable, especially now, since I've subsequently painted it a dark color. (I'm in Seattle where we don't get much snow, which is why it can be so close to grade) I installed a Bryant 90%+ furnace. My heating costs dropped dramatically after the switch, and the variable speed blower is so quiet, I'm seldom aware that it's even running. Do yourself a favor and go with the most efficient furnace you can find. The cost of heating fuel is only going to continue upward....See MoreGranite options Long island,NY advice needed!!
Comments (29)We get counter top fabricated and installed with Ata Stone Works. The Measurement was not correct and there was not template made. As soon the installers arrive at our house they ware angry with attitude and answer rudely my questions. The counter top was not the perfect fit and the fabrications was not the way we wanted it. The stone was attached to the cabinets with silicone not with epoxy as i was told. They try to fix the corners that has to be done in the shop with hand tools and the edging was ruined . The sink opening was not cut out and installed correctly. The installers told me that I have to pay for the rest of my balance and they left the house. I try to contact them couple times but the boss Levent sad that my house is in inconvenient place and they could not stop by at this time, but they will call me and fix the problems. They never call back. Not recommended... Thank you...See MoreTemps on Long Island NY at night (May 2016) as low as 43
Comments (6)Yesterday, someone I know said to get them planted as they were looking spindly. I wanted to wait, but.....Anyhow, I should have gone with my gut (I had thought of bringing into my breezeway, which is cooler and ultimately outdoors during the day, but I didn't do that...I went ahead and planted three leaving just the tops exposed (I have lots more) last night. I noticed the soil was warm. Well, this morning, so far, one is very wilted and soft and the other two are wilted as well, but not quite as soft. Your advice makes sense. I should have waited to see the answers to my question. We shall see how they fare. Your temps are lower than mine. Where are you located? In the meantime, I will start moving the remaining seedlings into the breezeway, etc. Thanks very much. At least I have more. Also, my ornamental sweet potato vines (In a pot) are completely limp. We are having unusually cold night time weather here....See More- 15 years ago
