Ringtones for cell phones

I want to change the ringtone on my Nokia cell phone. I have downloaded one I like to my computer, how do I
get it on my cellphone? I hope someone out there
can help me. Thanks for looking.

I always send them to my cell phone from the website, but you might be able to do it with a USB cable. Do you have one to connect your computer and cell together?

What carrier are you with? Sometimes they have free downloads for ringtones.

I believe both do have bluetooth but I never learned to use it. I will check it out. owbist; I always forget about youtube. However, I didn't see anything useful in your list. Remember, I had essentially succeeded in making a sim card transfe, but the data was not complete. The one on point post from your list also indicated incomplete data fields. I actually found that my transfer was worse than I originally thought. It only transferred the contact name and lost both the fact that the next contact was identical and thus a subset, but also lost any indication of the type of phone (work, home etc) and listed ALL entries as 'mobile'.

I loved reading about the signs you're received, Lulie. I believe they were from your Dad. A friend of mine died in 2008 and as we were driving to my parent's for Thanksgiving dinner that year I noticed a trailer that belonged to my friend's employer parked in a storage lot and was thinking how weird that was (it hadn't been there the day before) and at that very moment I get a text message from a unfamiliar number. It just said "Hi!". I've had that phone for 5 years and have only got 1 other text message and that was from my daughter (yes, I am behind on the times. lol). Maybe it was just some kid goofing around or maybe it was my friend saying "Hi" from the otherside? The timing was perfect anyhow. Miss you at the KT Lulie!

It depends on the phone and the carriers. There's a number of different types of service out there too. For instance different carriers use different frequencies (CDMA, PCS, GSM, etc) SIM cards are suggestive of GSM technology used by Tmo and ATT. If you're looking to use prepaid service you can sometimes use the phones but won't always have all the features. If you're looking for a contract service, then as cautioned before, beware of costs to change. Often the smallest thing will extend your contract. For instance, if you get a new phone, you generally get a new (extended) contract with hefty cancellation fees. You'll have to get more info from the companies, but generally speaking, Tmo will not be interchangeable with Virgin and Verizon. Tmo & AT&T are more likely to be options. Probably not answering your question, but not an easy question to answer!

I guess it all depends on how much you call from home versus away from home or on the road. We use pre-paid cellular. The new phones were free after rebate and my wife and I each spend about $5-$7/month for the STI Mobile/Sprint service. We only make quick 1-2 minute calls for necessary reasons and it works fine anywhere in the country that Sprint covers. Voice mail and text messaging are turned off on both cellular phones. Other cellular providers are now joining the pre-paid game with good deals. We are still stuck with the old telephone company for home and home office lines. I must have the reliability and quality of a landline for my business. I do pay too much for long distance, toll-free, and local service for my business compared to the low rates available today. Bills are typically $35-$50/month for relatively low volume usage. The last time I switched was from MCI to Ameritech(i.e. SBC/AT&T/who knows?) It was a pain to switch, but the new lower rates were good for a year before they went up again. Our home phone line just went up to $22/month for local phone service. It started at $18 several years ago. Pre-paid long distance service is $.025/minute using cards from companies like Cheap Phonecards. The latest cards don't require you to enter the pin every time from home and you can program the 800 access number into speed dial. The long distance cards are great from hotels too. We are seriously considering the switch to broadband phone service, but our local numbers are not yet portable for Vonage or the others. We are just outside of their large markets. Broadband cable internet is $30/month and speed is around 300K or 10 times faster than dial-up. It is fast enough for our needs. email the file from yourself (your pc) to yourself(your phone) and access that email from your phone and there will be the attached file. Can you not just download the file directly to your phone using the browser and the internet on the phone?

I don't know how to email to my phone. It is not a smartphone, I don't think I can access the internet with my phone. Thanks Raven I can use all the help I can get.

Don't all cell phone service providers have tech support? That's the direction I'd head in to get help.

The answer you want may only be a 3 minute phone call away.

I understand you don't know how to email your phone but can you send yourself an email from your phone? That's what I ended up doing, then I got the address to send my phone. My DH doesn't have a smart phone so he recorded a song he liked on the radio. It's not the best quality but it worked great.

No, I can't email from my phone, and I can't receive text messages. I think I will try someone else to download the ringtone from, one that can download to my phone, if that is possible. There was a $9.00 per month charge to download to my phone. Not going to happen.

Do you have an sd card in your phone? If you do, you can remove it, and insert it in your card reader, and copy and paste the ringtone to it. Once that is done, put the sd card back in, and locate the ringtone, and set it up. Good Luck

check your service providers website most offer ring tones that you can select by your phone model and it will be sent by them directly to your phone and they will charge you a small fee to your phone bill one time for that ring tone. I did that years ago with one of my old phones that was not a smart phone I think it was 99c .
