I have not taken the time to research this butterfly. I saw it in Loreto, Mexico in March.

An Indian Totem of sorts, by Peter Toth an Hungarian immigrant that carved at least one for every U.S. state and many Canadian Provinces. This one is in South Dakota

This is a willow tree I made to use for xmas decor, but I think I'll find a spot for it in one of my gardens this summer! maybe with some Purple Hyacinth Bean Vine on it? I took this photo a few weeks back... it's about 4.5 feet tall. What do you think? :)

Bob....I've been to Belize...I don't remember the new looking sections on that. Did they pour cement over the existing ruin to build it up?

I think I remember the guide saying that the covered it with a special "plaster" that protects the original carving beneath from ongoing erosion due to exposure to the rain, with a goal of making the carving look like it did originally, and which can easily be removed if need be without damaging the carving.

One thing that surprised me about Belize was coming across a settlement of Mennonites along the river on the way to the Mayan Ruins (shown above). I think they originally settled in Belize in the 1950's, still follow the traditional manner of dress, mostly avoid cars, electric, and other technology, and speak to each other in a dialect of German.

bob....that's cool! I don't get much "land" time on these trips. I was on a live aboard dive yacht for 7 days.

There were red footed boobie birds on an protected bird sanctuary island.....our taxi driver made as much as a doctor and lived as well....I remember things like that! lol Also the horrible stories of violence....it's a dangerous place!
