White. White with blue embroidery, white with white embroidery, white on white. I used to like colors, but white seems so much fresher and cleaner and more appealing. Plus, all whites go together.

Do you like your knit sheets? They don't sound appealing to me, but maybe I'd like them. Do they feel like tshirts?

We have the white Jersey knit sheets (and gold colored ones) for winter use. Gold colored and green/white checked for summer.

We have light blue sateen sheets. We received really expensive ivory sheets as a wedding gift, but they pilled right away. The blue sheets are a hotel set from Sam's Club and have held up really well. I love them!

Ideefixe, yes, they are t-shirt sheets, and yes, I like them. I like them best when the temperatures are cool/perfect; I tend to go for my white cotton percale sheets when it's really hot as those seem cooler to me, and the texture is crisper.

Newhomebuilder, I had a set of gold sheets too, also worn out. I used them for 10 years, so I guess I got the goody out of the them!

Fizzlebottom, I love hotel sheets, even though I don't have any at the moment.

Johnmari, we recently went to a water softener, so I know what you mean about that. My whites are perfectly clean, but seem a little gray, so I'm hoping that will help keep the new ones white.

I think I've mentioned before that I like pretty linens. Towels, sheets, table linens etc. We have sheets in different colors, but using colors which coordinate with our bedroom. Stripes, ruffled cases, sets with lace edging, vintage cases, prints, etc. I like to mix the sets up - right now I have a great striped Ralph Lauren topsheet (found at TJ Maxx for a song) with a creme background. I used a creme fitted sheet and pillow cases. A striped case for the extra pillow I use.

I do have a couple of sets of creme (off white) sheets - one plain, one with a fancy trim on the cases and top sheet. I don't own white sheets.

White here too! Always white. t doesn't matter if I get sets mixed up - they always match and sometimes it's real quirky. I prefer only white now so that I can bleach the living daylights out of them and so that I can see any dirt (such as flea dirt).

I must say though that after reading johnmaris's post I may try ivory. DH also has oily skin and you can tell wich side he sleeps on!

I agree white sheets just feel fresh and inviting. I have white and one set of light sage green. I don't care for dark colored sheets, it's just a mental thing.

I love white sheets. They always look fresh to me as well and go with every other color. Just bought some white sateen yesterday. I put them in the dryer about 20 minutes ago and I can't wait to try them out. I usually buy 100% cotton.

MY sheets are white. The Boy's and Elder Son's for college/grad school are navy blue. Their sheets at home are white.

I highly recommend navy blue sheets to folks going off to college. Even if they only change 'em once a semester they don't get ruined.

I use white ones too, satin. I love the look of white sheets it looks so crisp and dressy like an expensive blouse or shirt.

I have had gold colored sheets for about nine years and just recently started to think about getting white, a color I have never had before! How interesting that most here have white sheets.

We went for 25 years and had nothing but colored sheets. Then I tried a white set and was hooked. No more colored sheets! I love the fresh, clean, crisp feel of white sheets.

Red paisley, sage, cheetah print, mustard, black, some stripes ..... and I mix them up on the bed. I never have a complete matching set on the bed and for some reason, never white.

I prefer white sheets and white towels. I do not like the way colors get faded long before they wear out.

My kitchen towels are all also white. They get washed in bleach and hot water.

mjsee, interesting comment about sons' college bedding. My darling nephew started college this week. Like you, his mom sent navy blue sheets. She sent olive green towels. She figured both colors would wash well together, should he ever be struck with the desire to wash.

white always...I hang them out to dry now...DH got me a clothes line ( I asked for it ) and they feel like they are starched and they smell heavenly...I am doing them 2x a week just so I can get that feeling :)

NHB (or anyone), how do the Jersey sheets compare to the flannel for warmth and comfort?

Oceanna, they are light, just like wearing a t-shirt, compared to wearing a flannel shirt. Not as warm as flannel, but I like them paired with a down comforter in the winter, as long as it's warm enough that I can't visibly see my breath in the bedroom. They're great for me as I'm still having some night sweats, and like sleeping ''cool''.

Like bbstx...white, white and white. Sheets, towels, dish towels, washcloths, as many others have said much easier to keep clean/bleached.

EXCEPT today I just bought my son 2 sets of *cream* sheets. Why? Because I was replacing them due to his white sheets becoming hopelessly dingy. And because his new bedspread is brown. And because I figured might as well get a tint that already looks like it's off white(!).

Oh well at least I'll be able to tell which are his sheets easily.

I've had a variety of solid colored bed linens before and a few printed ones thrown in too, but anything new I've purchased is in white, ivory or creme, depending on the room they'll be used in. Makes it much easier for changing out the rest of the bedding without the added cost of sheets.

I also like crisp white sheets but have recently indulged myself with a few new sets in eggplant, sage, and copper. Last week I bought a set of jersey knit in lavender and am going to try them out tonight. I'm hoping they aren't too warm. I figured since I like to sleep in knit pajamas, that the sheets would be comfortable, too.

My favorite sheets are from QVC, they are the "wrinkle defense" and are really, truly wrinkle free, no ironing required. They have them in white, too.

Right now I have Calvin Klein (I think) green and white pinstripe with little hot pink Flamingos on it. :)

My son has a set of red/white/navy plaid and a set of denim blue - both to work with his room. DH and I have a set of gold tonal stripe sheets and another set of sage green sheets. The guest beds are in cream w/navy design and cream w/sage green design. I've never bought white sheets.

Hmmm, well they're supposed to be cream, but in reality they're usually more of a brown tabby-cat fur shade instead.
