Feeling sad for the people along the Missouri River

Friends and family along the Missouri River in Nebraska and Iowa are facing the worst flooding since 1952 - it's even predicted to surpass what was seen then. That was 3 years before I was born, but I've seen pictures and it was awful. After that time, several large dams were built across the river, the river was straightened in many places, and heavy flooding seemed a thing of the past.

There have been lesser floods, of course, but nothing like 1952. Until this year. People are having to evacuate their homes. Flooding along the area from Decatur, NE, to Omaha, NE, is expected to reach 5 to 7 feet above flood level by mid-June and some areas are expected to stay flooded for months. Other ares, further south, are expected to be even harder hit. Other states are being effected as well.

My heart breaks for them. Please keep all who are dealing with flooding along the Missouri river in your thoughts and prayers.
