Isn't it weird when it looks like something was made for another thing? You can look and look, but until you have the "AH HA" moment, nothing fits the bill.

Now we've got to finish the tiny built in on the other side of the kitchen. One more cream cabinet on order, a tiny slab of AB granite, open shelving above and the same tiles but running vertically.. I think.

Your backsplash is beautiful. I would keep the secret of the cost because it doesn't look like a $5 backsplash.

Oh, and since my kitchen is almost done I think its time to move so I can design another one :)

Perimeter is absolute black (its a little dusty from the tile install) and the island is Juparana Delicatus - however it was the most tame slab they had :)

Do you have a downdraft exhaust system or a vent in the ceiling? And your pendants tie it all together. I think you hit a perfect balance with the BS. Beautiful!

We have a downdraft. I wish it was a little more powerful, but it definitely does the trick for the type of cooking I do... I use the ovens more than the cooktop. I don't know that I've ever used all four burners at once!

Beautiful combination of pattern and color. Aren't you happy you waited for the backsplash that ''spoke'' to you? Even though you had to ''translate'' the message by transplanting a few tiles here and there.
