A lot of people don't use the warming drawer on a range because it's so low. Once you get into the habit of using a warming drawer, it's hard to go back. But there are also other ways of holding things warm. If you currently don't have times when you wished you had a warming drawer you may never miss it. Will you always be just two? Or are you likely to add children or grandchildren when you'd want a warming drawer for holding pizza, pancakes, plates of dinner for the late from activities kid, etc.? I don't know anything about the "baking drawer". If it's also around ankle level it has limited utility. If it's one of those two ovens in one range things, a lot of people like them, but the smaller one is on top, and pushes the lower oven down where it's less convenient to use. People like those for things like baking a pie while dinner cooks, or for a casserole that has to bake at a really different temperature to the meat. It can be very convenient for people who want to cook multiple things at multiple temperatures at one time. Others bake the pie first, and rewarm it while people are eating, or bake the sweet potatoes first, hold it on a hot tray or with Turkish towels, and/or put it back in to hot up while the meat is resting. As to convection, again, you probably won't miss it, but it's nice. Convection means less turning. It reduces hot spots and distributes the hot air to all levels, so you can easily make three racks of cookies or appetizers at once, and don't have to turn your roast. So figure out if any of those features sound like you really want them, and go from there. Good luck!

I don't have a 60" Wolf but I do have a 36" Caldera gas cooktop. We do a LOT of high heat wok cooking and also have a Miele built in deep fat fryer. We use all of this frequently and have done so for 7 years. We have no backsplash. Only paint on sheetrock. There has been no change at all in the quality of the painted wall since it was installed 7 yrs ago. I have BM Regal Matte paint that is scrubbable after 30 days. I regularly scrub it with a soapy dishcloth. There is no reason that you too can't have a painted backsplash . I have it throughout my kitchen. Here is only one of 100's of pics. Just as a for instance, if you bought a S+P 500 index fund, its performance would be EXACTLY the same as that index it was mirroring, adjusted for costs. Elmer, I believe you misunderstood me. Of course stock *index* funds perform the same as the index they are mirroring. I was talking about nonindex stock funds like mutual funds that are managed. They often underperform the stock indexes. From investopedia: Generally, when you look at mutual fund performance over the long run, you can see a trend of actively-managed funds underperforming the S&P 500 index. A common statistic is that the S&P 500 outperforms 80% of mutual funds. While this statistic is true in some years, it's not always the case. A better comparison is provided by Burton Malkiel, the man who popularized efficient market theory in A Random Walk Down Wall Street. The 1999 edition of his book begins by comparing a $10,000 investment in the S&P 500 index fund to the same amount in the average actively-managed mutual fund. @Hansen, it’s got a gas burner with a glow getter burner 36k BTU and Charisma log set. The firebox is Monessen Mcuf42D-R. https://www.hearthsidedistributors.com/MCUF42D-R Monessen’s instructions say you need the “canopy” or deflector but also refer to another drawing that’s somewhat ambiguous. The “canopy” is the black “bar” directly under the lintel, but as you can see, the lintel and brick extends past the canopy. So my question is, wouldn’t the lintel do what the “canopy” is designed to do, and therefore eliminate the need for the “canopy”? Also, it’ll be outside, the surround is brick, I may do a brick mantle, so no worries about combustibles. You thoughts?
