Thank you so much for the tips. I found the number on the inside - the manufacturer is a German company named Geze, which is written on the cranks. The numbers I found are 062939B (I think this is the window model) and the other number is 063030 (I think this is the crank model number.) Sadly, my google search did not turn up anything using these numbers. I did not see a "track" for a screen outside. I saw two small holes, one at the far bottom right and one at the far bottom left of the window, but there were not corresponding ones at the top (e.g. I thought maybe you could hook a screen on with 4 hooks....) I posted about 10 photos in photobucket - you can see the window from the outside balcony opened inward, plus a closeup of the track, and the tilt in and so on. We have 6 of these windows - does anyone have an idea what screens might cost? I am starting to think this is not going to be as straightforward as I had hoped. Thanks again for all advice and suggestions!

As promised, here are the close-up pictures of the window screen clips. This is the front of the clip: and here is the back: Here it is attached to the window screen. It just snaps into the channel. you just rotate the clip to attach it to the window. The newest screen we have has a system that is a bit different. This is the bottom clip. It is stationary. The top clip moves. It is attached to a control lever by a rod. This is the lever that controls the top clip. When in this position, the clip does not stick out beyond the screen, so you can install the screen. When you push the lever in, the clip moves up and clips onto the window. I have no idea if this is how all screens for tilt and turn windows attach. I know Marvin makes tilt and turn windows. They may have a different system, so you might want to go to a Marvin dealer and ask them how their screen attach.

I am seriously considering Loewen, but not sure what type(s) of windows I want. I was checking their website and see thay have someting called an Access window that is pretty unique - I love the way it tilts 180 degrees for cleaning, and it looks like your can tilt it out like an awning window for airflow. But the best part is that it allows a single wide window - for a great view. I'm sure it would be very expensive like the Tilt and Turn, but still pretty cool. It might be just the thing for at least one of my openings!

toddinmn, thank you for correcting me on "fiberglass" terminology. What do you think of that material? We already asked Wasco and they told us that they would paint it for us ... with some awesome German paint ;) That sounds perfectly good to me for the interior but I am not sure how it'll hold on the exterior. We also recently learned that Marvin is going to start offering black painted interiors at the end of April. I have looked at Intus but we do not have anybody local here that worked with them and I am not sure I want to experiment with windows "unknown" to our installers. Of course having said that it'll be first T&T installation for our builder anyway but at least we can have tech reps from either of the vendors on site to help with installation.
