Linda, I have a LOT of 1930's left over from my big quilt. Is there any particular color or theme you would like? I might have it!

Kate, any color will be fine. I want a variety of different colored blocks. I will probably border it in green or blue. I will decide when I see the blocks. Thanks for asking!

I'm still waiting on a couple blocks but thought it would be fun to post a picture of what I have received. This layout includes the 2011 birthday blocks (Buckeye Beauty), plus several blocks from my 2010 birthday blocks (London Square), along with a few blocks I've made myself. I'll switch the colors around a little before I decide where they all go. I wasn't sure how to put these two patterns together but I like this layout a lot, using the London Square blocks as the border. There will be a 3" border between the set of Buckeye Beauty blocks and the London Square blocks but I haven't decided on the fabric for that yet. I have fabric to make several more Buckeye Beauties, too! Here's a sketch of the plan.

Looks like the woodshed is in order for me! I totally missed your day:( I've put your block in the mail, along w/a consolation surprise. Please forgive my lapse - I'm SO in need of a retreat! Wow, I got another envelope today and it isn't even Oct. yet! I am having so much fun. I stop for the mail every day on my way home from work (1:15 pm)and open it while eating lunch. I'm ashamed I don't have your block done yet, but I WILL get to it this weekend and get it sent early next week. Hopefully it will get to you before (or ON) your birthday. I had good intentions to get the October blocks done a couple weeks ago but then we tore up the office to put new flooring in and my sewing room became the storage room instead!

The fabric that I ordered for your block arrived today and I made it as soon as I washed and dried the fabric. I'll be sure to mail it tomorrow and maybe it will make it to you in time!

Another block arrived today. Thank you Patti. I now have all the blocks. Thank you everyone for the beautiful blocks. I am going to make a few more so I can make a square quilt. This will be a beautiful baby quilt for my first grandchild due in March.

I finished putting the border on my birthday blocks quilt today. I am washing the bleached muslin that I will use for the backing. I plan to load it on the frame as soon as it dries and I iron the fabric.
Thank you to everyone for the great blocks. I love the quilt! I made a few more blocks so I could make it square (4X4 blocks).
I plan to keep this at my house to use when our grandbaby comes to visit. He will be born in March 2012.
