Nita, you are such a wonderful parent for Bobby. I know he's probably overwhelmed with all the love you provide for him.

In years to come, he will be so glad that you went to such lengths to ensure he knows his entire family.

I didn't know I had a half-sister until I was an adult (she knew about me).

From one who has had the experience, please understand that this may be extremely difficult for Bobby to process, whether he tells you so or not.

I am very happy to have my sister, but I had concerns about what other family secrets there might be. After reassurances there were no more surprises coming, I felt better. Maybe such reassurance would be helpful for Bobby.

Bobby has grown up soooo much. He's such a great kid--because he's been reared by the best grandparents in the world. I hope he and McKayla will have a good relationship in the future.

Bobby was happy to get to see his sister (same father). He is also very close to his half brother (same mother)who he has known since he was born.

Bobby is also aware that he has 2 other half sisters (same father) that are small about age 4 and 5. He won't be seeing them until he reaches the age of 18 and wants to meet his father. Father has had no contact with Bobby since he was 3. Dead beat Dad that has paid no child support in 13 years. There are no other siblings besides these. Everything has been very out in the open with Bobby. He also spends a couple weeks a year with his fraternal grandparents and they come to our house also. We are good friends and try to keep Bobby's life as normal as possible.

The two of them look great together. I see a family resemblance around their eyes. Thanks for letting us in on a happy ending.

What a good-looking boy, Nita! Life does get tejus, don't it? I have 5 half brothers and sisters. I was raised with 4 of them. I met the 5th one when I was 21. He was the one that had been kept in the dark as he had never been told that his father had been married before. He was 13 at the time. That was also the first time I "met" my father as he and my mother divorced when I was 3. He was not a deadbeat Dad, but times were different then. My mother did not need his money. She remarried, changed her name, and moved away. She didn't want him in her life anymore so she didn't tell him where she was. Unfortunately, I am not still in contact with this brother although I do hear about him from time to time. There has never been a problem between us, but he always lived in the north and I lived in the south. We just didn't have enough interaction to create a lasting bond. Hopefully that will not be the case with your son. You are to be commended for making it possible for them to meet.

Great picture Nita. He doesn't know it now but this is a big lifetime moment for him. You are great to have put them together.

Nita, it's great that you set this up for Bobby. My dd Alyssa just met her brothers and sister 3 years ago and though it was akward at first, they are all very close now.
