must clarify I do not have nickel fixtures yet installing tomorrow. I don't know if I would soak the whole thing just in case as I just opened the kitchen tap box and it says don't use corrosive cleaners I would still use CLR but carefully. Hope I didn't lead you too far astray.

Personally I have no issue, and even enjoy mixed fixtures, but not in different color families. Your ORB is a warm finish and the nickel is cold. I mixed old gold with ORB and it flows wonderfully, but the nickel flusher stood out like an ugly thumb (IMO) so I changed that out quickly. So my answer, never with those two finishes. People love many things, which does make them work for their space, but not necessarily for everyone. If you are never going to sell...than don't worry, or if you don't mind changing them out...but if you can change it, I'd go with the same body of color (warm or cold) verses trying to make the two work together...cuz they really don't :(

Okay, I'm back! I ordered a sample order from an online site, which let me pick 3. I picked 3 different finishes, and 3 different styles to get several ideas. But, maybe the hinges wouldn't be that noticable? If I did the stainless pulls, it would probably be the first pull above (in "black iron") Also, we tried some ORB, and I liked them, but DH wasn't thrilled with them...some of them had some "pink" on them.

First of all, I don't think there is "a" right. I think you already have both elements in your space. You have a stainless range, so the satin nickel would blend in. You have "dark iron" sconces, so the ORB/black is there also. What color is the dark iron: black, dark grey, bronze/brown? What I am personally doing is satin nickel faucet/soap dispenser and bronze cabinet pulls (on brown stained cabinets). I think that would look nice in your space. You didn't say whether you had already picked your faucet finish or what color your sink is, but that would make a difference, too. Going all satin nickel or all ORB would look good also. I don't think that satin nickel looks "shiny/modern" at all. I do think that chrome or polished nickel wouldn't look as good in your space. Are you far enough along to post a picture?
