Having the requisite inland heat, I can share some of my experiences with tea roses. Reve d'Or has afternoon shade but is planted against the house wall and struggles a bit there, especially in the summer. I hope as time goes on this rose will become tougher, but even now this rose gives me quite a few lovely blooms. Le Vesuve, Souvenir d'un Ami, Miss Atwood, Rosette Delizy, Westside Road Cream Tea, Mrs. B.R. Cant, Alexander Hill Gray, Mrs. Dudley Cross and William R. Smith are all doing very well. Clementina Carbonieri, Monsieur Tillier and General Tartas frizzled rather quickly for me and I no longer have them. Perhaps if I hadn't been so impatient and let them mature that might have changed. Duchesse de Brabant seems to suffer also but I'm keeping her and hope for better things as she grows older. Ingrid

Talk about perplexing! I went ahead and shut down my computer, re-booted, opened a browser (an older IE v6), did *not* sign in to any Yahoo accounts including the one that the photo folder is under, just clicked my Favorites, first tested by pulling a group I'm a member in to see if it showed me as not signed in yet (it indicated that I couldn't access the group, so I knew I wasn't recognized as having "told" the browser that I was in it via the Yahoo Photos username I uploaded under), then pulled the Fig Forum and looked at this thread. The picture is right there for me, both embedded and when I click on the link. Definitely beats me why it won't show up for others. Does anyone who uses Yahoo Photos as their repository for having a site to upload their pics to, have any thoughts? or is this only a funky browser problem for a few people? I'm completely baffled what would be a deterrent on viewing it, and don't yet know other ways of accessing the folder (this was the first time I'd created an album and uploaded anything to their Photos section, so I'm a rank newbie on using any kind of uploadable site, just made sense to use it since I already use Yahoo for email). We need the technogeeks to offer ideas! *sigh* - more mysteries of cyberspace. Sherry

Positively breathtaking... every picture! I have a question for you all... which of the Austins are the hardiest? I'm in zone 5b, but we occasionally get some really frigid winters. I've played it safe choosing roses rated for zone 4, and they are lovely... but the English roses are just too beautiful! Which do you think stand the greatest chance of survival in the colder zones? Wow -- it's so healthy looking too. Don't apologize for posting on the main site. I think we all should as it seems the gallery often gets overlooked.
