They bloom on last year's growth, so one has to kind of watch lopping off too much if you want it to flower. I used to think it bloomed "on old wood", until I actually looked the info up yesterday. I usually end up pruning mine back every other year (not down to the ground tho, it's way too high even if I wanted to do that,which I don't) and have discovered that it doesn't like to have the ends of it's branches simply trimmed off - much of the branch will die back if you do that.

Thanks folks, staticx, IMHO the onion does offer a nice compliment to the tangy berries and fruity heat of the habs. I like your smoked pepper idea. I'll definitely give it a shot when I make my next batch. steveb3, maybe it's just me but I don't find heat loss cooking the peppers. Actually, I think the acid in the vinegars promote extraction of the capsicum from the peppers and spread it around. John, I'm sure it will work well with milder peppers, the original recipe called for using Jalapenos. If I can find Melly's original recipe I'll post it for you. Bill

I didn't. Bob got to keep his job - I didn't divulge his beliefs and writings to his company or his clients. I didn't divulge anything about his personal life to anyone at work either. I chose to inform only one person who was being hurt, and did so quietly. I'm not attempting to put you to my defense - I feel more than able to defend myself. There's not much more I can say and I know many of you will never agree with my reasoning or support how I responded. I'm not sure I wouldn't support what I did either if it were a hypothetical case that someone mentioned on an internet web forum. But for me it wasn't a hypothetical case, and real people I knew were involved, and I had to make decisions in real time, and I had to do things that I don't normally like to do to achieve what I thought to be an acceptable outcome. I understand why many of you find my actions to have been unethical or wrongheaded - I understand, but don't happen to agree. Maybe I should track this woman down and get her take, online if not in person. I am confident she'd be very glad I decided it was ethically correct not to keep mum, but rather to save her from unwittingly living a lie. As far as I'm concerned, that would be all the vindication and good karma I would ever need.

I thought Emily said in a previous show she watched her mom die? That's why I didn't think it possible she could be alive. I had the same thoughts about Victoria and same about Amanda's baby. That woman keeps coming back at the worst times doesn't she? I knew something was going to keep Emily from Jack. It would have been too easy otherwise.
