OT: Healthy Baby Girl

Please forgive me for posting this here. I want to thank all of you who have followed the path with me during the few weeks we had with precious Raina and since she went to heaven. Her parents, Nick and Julie, didn't give up on having another baby and yesterday, my 5th great-grandchild, Jaycie Olivia was born...9 pounds 1 oz, 21" long and healthy.

Thanking the Lord for this healthy baby that came out with a lusty cry. @:)

Fun thread. Cute kids and dogs. My youngest is 38. Just lost my cat Lucy in August of 2005 at age 21 and Tasha about age 16 April 25 of this year. This one I felt sorry for and made friends with him. He only seems to trust me, and sneaks up on me when I'm working outside and plops in the dirt near me, doesn't feel threatened by my gardening tools (or camera lol). I thought he was gone for good as he disappeared for a whole week when Tasha died, but she was an indoor cat and didn't like him. I put away his bowl and the food out for the birds. Then there he was again. He's like that. He looks more mature now, he must have been a young cat that summer, homeless, or it is possible he has another home, but I rather doubt it. This photo was taken in August of 2006. When it got cold I scooped him up and made him come in, so he does stay in more when the weather is bad. I named him Sparky and got him his shots.

Kristy the disk that was out of place was pushed against the syatic nerve,the Dr said he might have some numbness(sp)in his leg for a while but,I don't think Mike really knew what is was gonna be like,I do know he is having a time with it,he goes back to the Dr Monday so hopefully they will be able to tell more about it. Now Steph my DIL that just had the baby,is having some problems with her heart,she went to the Dr today and they told her it seems to be skipping a beat,she is only 25 years old,she has to go back on the 23rd for more test,so please pray for her. Please everybody don't get upset with me I have to talk to someone,and you guys really seem to care,but I am sorry if my post bothers anyone,I just can't seem to handle all this alone. Hugs Bonnie

Paul, Thanks for the lesson. I have handled all my spiders when the chance came up. You have a better chance hurting them than they have you. There fangs can't get thru the thick skin of you hands. Other parts they can, just don't give them a chance. Now I'm talking about household types, not the big tropical ones. Please don't tell me chickens are a live animal?? I thought they grew on tress like where hamburgers come from. Next you'll tell me the Easter bunny doesn't exist. Stush

OT American Girl Doll Clothes

I have made lots of AM Girl doll clothes from patterns like Simplicity, McCall and Butterick. They have good directions and fit perfectly if you cut it out correctly. I try to use light weight woven's and light weight knit fabrics. The AM Girl doll clothes are no where near as hard as Barbie doll clothes because of the size of the doll. You can search the internet for doll zippers (I think its Tiny Zippers) and the fabrics stores have bags of tiny buttons. I buy the Velcro dots for making closures. If you buy the sticky ones you will want to also buy Sewers aid by Dritz. It makes your needle glide through the sticky back on the Velcro dot.. I usually just sew an X over the dot to hold it on. I sew on Velcro for the closures and a button on the outside of the garment with the Velcro right under so it looks like an actual button closure. I also use lots of snaps with the button sewn on the outside just like I do for the Velcro. I like to use as much detail as possible, I don't find hard to add lace or ribbons. I use felt and fleece on occasion, you don't have to finish the edges!! Have fun, start with something simple like a pair of pull on pants with elastic waist. I also bought a doll of my own so I would have it available to fit the clothes to as I am sewing (if you don't already have a doll handy.)

Thank you everyone. Our family feels blessed with this bundle of joy and are so happy for Nick and Julie. I'm sorry the one picture is so small, and the other one so big. DH put them in my photobucket and that's just the way they look.....sigh

Sharon she is gorgeous!!!! I think she looks like you!!!! So many people have drifted away from the conversations area. IMO is is OK to post them here, I certainly think all enjoyed the pics. Anyone that doesn't want to see them doesn't have to open the post. You gave advance notice it was OT and a healthy baby girl lol!!!!

I totally agree with Rosa. I haven't figured out the OT part, but there's no misunderstanding "Healthy Baby Girl"

I rejoice for your whole family. God truly is awesome and His gift to you is gorgeous. I'm jealous, she's got more hair then me. :o)

if you had posted the announcement/pictures somewhere else I probably would have never seen them, so Thank you for sharing your precious joy here.

Jaycie got to go home this afternoon and GiGi took next week off from work to help the family get settled in and let Nick and Julie be able to take longer naps. @:) Then, it'll be my turn! After she's thoroughly spoiled and I see Jaycie has things under control, I'll be able to head to Florida with a clear conscience! lol
