Whole bean coffee at Costco which we grind there. Home coffee grinders make too much of a mess, IMHO.

I grind them myself. I think the flavor is is better. And I don't find it messy.

Fresh ground beans for me. And those large bag of whole beans may not be all that fresh. Depends on when the beans were bagged. Those beans on the bottom could be quite old.

We buy all of our coffee beans (whole bean only, thank you) from Maui Coffee Roasters.

That's because most home coffee grinders have plastic containers into which the ground coffee is collected. We have a KitchenAid ProLine Coffee Grinder which uses glass containers for both the whole beans and the ground coffee. No "static cling" equals no mess. Whole beans that I grind myself. I use my inexpensive Braun grinder that I don't consider messy, unless I spill!

Whole beans, ground every morning. Not messy at all. We have been using the same little Braun grinder for 36 years!

Whole beans. I put them in the Braun grinder the night before, then grind right before brewing. I do get "coffee dust" on the counter from the grinder, but I just sweep it away into my hand.

I buy big bags of Starbucks French Roast beans at Costco. I know I could be getting fresher beans, but the price is right and those bags often go on sale.

Whole Beans! Love Eight O'Clock French Roast and also the coffee we order online for the office from Willowby's. (I don't buy that for home because it's pricey!)

I drink so little coffee that I'm not really qualified to comment. I don't taste a big difference between freshly ground and pre-ground coffee. I think the big difference is in freshly *roasted*, and no, I'm not planning to do that at home. On Maui, I sometimes buy beans and use our little Braun; not very messy.

I do know that I only want freshly *brewed* coffee, not interested in anything left standing. I'd guess that's the real appeal of the single-serve coffee makers.

Neither here because I don't drink coffee. I don't even like the smell of it..

Whole beans that I grind in my Proctor-Silex grinder that is about 25 years old. I buy Starbucks espresso beans and make myself a latte every morning and afternoon.

I used to grind beans at home but decided it wasn't worth the bother and didn't want to invest in a better grinder. So I buy whole beans at Trader Joe's and grind them there. I use that coffee in the attachment for my Keurig and make one cup at a time. Works for me.

Whole bean and my grinder isn't at all messy.

We generally grind our own but only if we have company staying over.

I don't drink coffee on a daily basis and DH just heads off to the donut shop each morning for his. If I do have coffee at home when no one else is here, I use instant crystals and dress it up with creamers and sweetener.

I read a lot and it seems in books drinking a fresh brewed, steaming hot cup of black coffee is always romanticized. I simply can't get into coffee in its natural state. Wish I could.

My husband is the big coffee drinker around here, I have one glass of iced coffee with my sugar free chocolate sauce in it every day. We use only Community Club dark roast and buy the pre ground.

Whole beans which I grind in my very old Braun grinder. Hubby is a big coffee drinker, for me it is just 1 cup in the morning. Ours comes from Lion coffee in Hawaii.

We also have the Cuisinart Grind & Brew so we buy whole beans. There is no mess with this one since the grinder & coffee pot are one unit.

We don't like coffee!
We save plenty of money (and counter space) because of that.

Lindsay, I was just at my brother's home for his DS's high school graduation, and they had that same coffee grinder on the counter. I had never seen it, now twice in two days. They love it and says it's not messy at all. DH will still grind coffee, but it's so messy because of the static in our Starbuck's grinder. Will have to look into the kitchenaid.

I grind my own beans as I need them. I have always loved Nabob coffee and now that they sell beans in small bags I am loving the coffee that my cheap $19 Black & Decker coffee maker is brewing. Loved the French Press too and after a few attempts to get the right grind for it I had great coffee. I use a Braun coffee grinder also and it never makes a mess.
