Awhile ago I was in an arithmetic mood and did some calculations about corner cabinets. A full circle lazy susan gives you about 20% more storage surface area than a true blind corner (i.e., with the corner blocked off and empty). Lazy susans with the corner cut out give you 5% more, up to maybe 10%, depending on the size of the wedge out. Corner drawers work for full overlay (which a true blind doesn't because the doors/drawers run into each other), but only have a negligibly tiny bit more storage. I'm getting corner drawers because I just don't like lazy susans. The swing out things (there are several kinds) might actually reduce the storage area, from what I can tell without being able to make precise measurements. They not only fill a lot less of the space in a corner than a lazy susan, they also cut down the space available in the cupboard next to the blind corner. My cabinet maker won't touch them! In a place where you have a necessary blind corner there's also the "Arlosmom solution". She put sideways pullouts in the blind area which slide into the adjacent cabinet. Obviously, if you're going to use it a lot you'll want to only store big, easily moved things in front of them. I have two of these corners going into my new kitchen. One upper that has open shelves butting into it, and one next to the laundry sink. My cabinet maker is mounting the pullouts on adjustable shelves so that they can move with the shelves. I figure that up near the ceiling, I will only put the very least used things. Perhaps the lightweight roaster in the actual cupboard, and things like my extra teakettles, which I don't need and don't want to be rid of, in the blind. In the laundry room I'm thinking I'll get baskets for sorting laundry so I won't have piles on the floor, and put them in the cupboard in front of the pull outs, so they'll be really easy to take out for access. I decided against built in sorters (which were on the list for quite awhile) because it worked better for other things, so I really like how this ended up working out.

No idea if this is helpful. I think an asymmetrical supersusan could be made if your cabinet makers are skillful. In my sketch, the center mark indicates the center of rotation for a super susan, not a pole. The drawing on the left shows the susan in position so that the doors can close The drawing on the right shows the susan rotated so that it protrudes beyond the cabinets for easy access to the contents. Note the asymmetry of the wedge shaped cutout due to the differing depths of the two cabinets. This does assume that you are willing to use part of the 24 inch cabinet for the susan. Otherwise you would have to use one of the pull out access devices like those suggested by ajc71. No idea if this is useful--or even if it can be done. It just occurred to me and I wanted to share it with you.

Mine is 9+ yrs old and gets heavy use, adjusted it once. Took one out once that was 28 yrs and ruubed a little bu only really needeed adjustment. Have put in many. Knobs look odd since I added drawer heads, otherwise they would be higher. You can use only 1 but then only can pull from one side. In use it is one handed sort of a pull to then center and release- I use my foot to brake it as it spins, get what I want, spin and walk away- it self closes. Hafele has a video of it.

firsthouse: if you read this, would you be able to measure the front dimensions of your corner? I'm trying to figure out how much wider the left side is than the right so I can talk to my cab guy about it. thank you! katy-lou: I have sort of the same thing now except I wasn't smart enough (pre-GW) to have DH make a shelf stepped back like yours. Both shelves are full depth and although I can keep a lot on them, it kills my back to get down low enough to dig for the stuff on the bottom back. I'm not nice and neat like you and I keep putting more stuff in there because I can so it's constantly shuffling to get out what I want. Your cabs are beautiful, though and I do appreciate the input and pic. I love seeing the different examples of how people make things work.
